Everything We Know About Carnival's Celebration Key

Carnival Cruise Line is working on a brand-new port in The Bahamas called "Celebration Key." Opening in July 2025, this will be a private destination, meaning that guests onboard other cruise lines won't have the option to visit.

Royal Caribbean’s CocoCay vs Carnival's Half Moon Cay: Which should you choose?

Both Royal Caribbean and Carnival have their own private islands within The Bahamas — Perfect Day at CocoCay and Half Moon Cay — that can only be visited when sailing on one of their respective ships.

You won't, for instance, find a cruise onboard the revolutionary Icon of the Seas to Half Moon Cay. Similarly, Carnival Conquest won't be visiting CocoCay.

8 mistakes I saw people make on my Carnival cruise

While spending four nights onboard Carnival Conquest, I noticed some common cruise mistakes that could have been easily avoided.

Whether you're a seasoned cruiser or about to board your first-ever ship, it is important to be aware of some do's and don'ts, so you can save yourself time, money, and sanity.

13 things I loved and hated about Carnival Conquest

After previously cruising onboard Carnival Celebration and Carnival Vista, I was intrigued by a relatively cheap cruise onboard Carnival Conquest.

Genuinely, I wasn't too sure of what to expect. When onboard Freedom of the Seas in late 2023, my finacée and I met a woman during sail away who said Conquest was one of her least favorite cruises ever.

I stayed in the cheapest cabin on Carnival Conquest. It was small and windowless, but for $200 a night, it was a great deal — take a look

After sailing onboard Carnival Celebration and Carnival Vista in 2023, I decided to try one of Carnival's older ships on a short 4-night cruise to The Bahamas.

Pros and Cons of sailing on an older Carnival cruise ship

When the majority of people think of taking a cruise, they usually envision sailing on the latest and greatest available.

Today, there's no shortage of onboard activities on cruise ships that will have you wondering how in the world you can go ice skating, ride a roller coaster, or race around a go-kart track at sea!

What not to bring on a Carnival cruise

When packing for your upcoming Carnival cruise, you might be wondering what exactly you should or shouldn’t pack in your suitcase. If you’re in the process of packing for your cruise, you’ll want to review which items are prohibited from bringing onboard your Carnival cruise ship.

While some prohibited items are obvious - such as weapons and fireworks - you might be surprised by the long list of items that Carnival Cruise Line does not want you to bring onboard. You can view Carnival’s list of prohibited items on the cruise line’s website.

Pros and Cons of a Carnival Cruise

Carnival Cruise Line is one of the largest cruise lines in the world, and they definitely deliver on the fun. After all, their cruises are referred to as the “fun ships.”

The extra step you should take so you aren't delayed getting onboard a Carnival cruise

The cruise boarding process is not standardized, meaning that each line has its own set of procedures to ensure that everyone gets onboard as quickly as possible. If you have sailed with Royal Caribbean or Disney and are planning on boarding your first Carnival cruise, you'll find some differences, starting with the boarding pass

After 6 Royal Caribbean cruises this year, I tried Carnival for the first time — here’s what I liked and didn’t like

Throughout my 24 years of life, I have had the privilege of taking over a dozen cruises, the majority with Royal Caribbean. Despite being in my mid-20s, I have never found the party-like atmosphere of Carnival Cruise Line appealing.

I knew their ships did not have the Broadway-style musicals that I am used to on Royal Caribbean's Oasis Class ships, and I had always heard that the food was mediocre at best.
