When it is finally time for you to book your cruise vacation, one of the most important choices you will have to make is which cabin is right for you.

With all of the different types of cabins available to choose from, it can make the process of selecting one overwhelming. If you are looking to stretch your cruise budget further, you may be interested in booking an interior room. These no-frill cabins do not offer natural light, and are often the smallest onboard. However, they are equipped with all of the basic amenities you would find in other standard cabins!

Oftentimes interior cabins are priced the lowest, so you may be questioning if they are a bad choice? Read on to find out!

Once your cruise vacation is booked, it is time to start thinking about what you are going to pack!

If you are used to traveling on land-based vacations, you might not think twice about throwing a steamer into your bag, or expecting an iron in your room. However, cruises are different when it comes to these household items. Both steamers and irons are on many cruise line's lists of prohibited items due to the fire hazard that they pose.

So, if you are worried about wrinkled clothing, what options are you left with? We break down why these items aren’t allowed, and what options you will have available to you once onboard.

Cruise.Blog writer Hayley recently sailed on Norwegian Cruise Line’s newest ship, Norwegian Viva and one of their oldest ships, Norwegian Sun. On both cruises she opted to stay in an interior room, and was interested to see how far interior rooms have come in the last two decades within the same fleet.
