2023 was an exciting year for Norwegian Cruise Line. With the debut of new itineraries and a new ship, Norwegian has seen many updates over the last twelve months. 

With the 2023 year coming to an end, we are looking forward to the future. What does 2024 have in store for Norwegian Cruise Line? 

The glistening, otherworldly landscape in front of me could be mistaken for nowhere else in the world. I had arrived at the White Continent—the ultimate destination on any traveler’s bucket list—and an entire day ahead of schedule at that.

Immediately, I was most bewildered by Antarctica’s dramatic contrasts. The continent’s harmony shone in its sparkling white icebergs illuminating the turquoise water below, and in the way such pristine silence was so quickly interrupted by the roaring crack of a glacier.

If you're going on a cruise in 2024, whether it's in March or December, there are some things that you can start doing NOW to get into the cruise spirit! 

While there are certain tasks that you have to save until closer to your sail date — like actually packing your suitcase — it's advisable to begin thinking ahead for others. If you wait until the last minute, you might have to rush to renew your passport or be disappointed with the remaining shore excursion options. 

Last month, I traveled to Antarctica on the Sea Spirit, a deluxe expedition cruise ship by Poseidon Expeditions. For this once-in-a-lifetime adventure to Antarctica, I booked a Superior Suite cabin, which provided spacious accommodations along with an exterior-facing window.

The total cost of a Superior Suite on the Sea Spirit was $26,790 for two guests, or $13,395 per person. I spent nine nights on the ship, which included all meals, onboard activities, and excursions in Antarctica.

Inclement weather off the coast of Florida delayed and rerouted numerous ships over the weekend, impacting thousands of passengers. 

An unusually powerful storm during what is supposed to be the dry season, moved across Florida and the Gulf of Mexico on Saturday night, bringing record-breaking rain and high winds. While not a hurricane, it looked a lot like a tropical storm and brought record rainfall to Florida.

Passengers onboard cruise ships detailed the rocky conditions they were subject to, with some guests reporting sailing through waves around 12 feet!
