Carnival Cruise Line abruptly raises the daily gratuity charges for the first time in three years

Carnival is set to increase gratuities for passengers for the first time since 2023.

Starting April 2, 2026, the cruise line will raise the daily gratuity rate by $1 per day, bringing the new rate for standard cabins to $17.00 per person, up from $16.00, and suites to $19.00 per person, up from $18.00. It is the same amount for all passengers, regardless of age.

Carnival ends cruise early to avoid developing Nor'easter

Carnival Cruise Line is ending one of its cruises early to avoid the developing Nor'easter that's expected to slam the East Coast over the weekend.

Passengers on the current sailing aboard Carnival Sunshine were informed on Wednesday that their sailing will be cut short by one day due to the worsening weather forecast.

The Sunshine Class ship was supposed to call at Grand Turk, Turks & Caicos on Thursday, January 29. However, the final port visit of the 8-night Eastern Caribbean cruise was canceled at the last minute.

Gen Z trend caused Carnival to make a fleet wide drink package change

Drinking is often considered synonymous with cruise vacations. However, as wellness culture continues to grow, many travelers have cut back on alcohol — and cruise lines have taken notice.

Carnival Sunshine Rooms to Avoid (2026)

Picking the right stateroom for your Carnival cruise matters quite a bit. With options ranging from small inside cabins to roomy suites, there are plenty of choices.

Throughout my cruising career, I've had my fair share of bad cruise cabins. For example, my Junior Suite on Carnival Vista was located so far forward that the motion was impossible to ignore.

Carnival recently announced that its oldest ship, Carnival Sunshine, will head to Europe in 2027 to offer a series of itineraries to bucket-list destinations like Morocco, Turkey, Montenegro, Italy, and Tunisia.

I cruised with Carnival and Margaritaville at Sea. Both do things well, but one is a better value for the money

Carnival and Margaritaville at Sea are two of the cheapest cruise lines that offer guests everything from nonstop entertainment to multi-course meals and comfortable accommodations. Which one, however, is right for your next cruise?

Carnival Cruise Line is one of the most well-known cruise lines at sea. With nearly 30 ships operating worldwide, it's hard to ignore their iconic red, white, and blue funnels, which have become a symbol for fun-filled vacations on the water.

Is Carnival Vista a good cruise ship? I spent 5 days onboard to find out

Carnival Cruise Line isn't known for building the world's biggest or most technologically advanced cruise ships, but that doesn't stop millions from embarking on their fun ships annually.

Whether you're a first-time cruiser or seasoned veteran, the line remains a popular choice for its overall value, laid-back atmosphere, and tasty fast-casual dining options.

Here's what a 7-night Carnival cruise should cost you (2026)

From the upbeat environment of their "FUN" ships to exploring new ports of call, planning a Carnival cruise is exciting! However, nobody wants to go into debt over their annual vacation, so it's crucial to budget accordingly.

Carnival is known for its laid-back atmosphere and wallet-friendly sailings. That said, the actual price of a weeklong cruise varies based on several factors, such as sail date, age of ship, and cabin category.

I stayed in a cruise cabin with no windows during a 5-night sailing on Carnival Elation. The $1,400 price tag was steep for the outdated room

I’ve sailed in windowless interior cabins more than a dozen times, and they’re usually a comfy, budget-friendly option. However, my stateroom on Carnival Elation was by far the most disappointing.

Whether you're on a picturesque sailing through Alaska's towering fjords or a quick weekend getaway to The Bahamas, you can count on interior cabins to be the cheapest rooms on board.

So, when my partner and I decided on a spring break cruise, we booked an inside stateroom to keep costs low during the peak travel season.

Carnival cruise ship passenger mistakenly held by ICE agents

A cruise passenger was wrongfully detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents when their Carnival ship returned to Miami, Florida.

Jose Martinez, a U.S. Coast Guard Veteran and U.S. citizen residing in Phoenix, Arizona, was abruptly woken up around 6:45 a.m. on January 5, 2026, when ICE agents barged into his cabin.

Martinez was sailing on the Carnival cruise ship with his wife, Tamara Verhas, and several others for a special birthday celebration.

Carnival warns parents they'll be fined if their kids break the cruise ship curfew

One parent received a written warning after their child was caught violating Carnival's curfew policy.

According to the cruise line's website, all passengers 17 and under who are not accompanied by an adult 21 years of age or older in their travel party are required to leave all public areas on the ship by 1:00 a.m.
