Would cruise lines be smart to start charging guests to use the pool chairs? Many would say no. However, one guest was adamant that it would be a smart solution to the pesky chair hog problem aboard Carnival ships. 

Carnival Cruise Line is one of the most popular cruise lines in the world, with ships that range from thrill-packed megaships to older, smaller vessels offering a more traditional cruising experience. The brand is known for its fun-focused atmosphere, with parties, activities, and entertainment starting almost as soon as you step onboard.

For many cruisers, there’s a lot to love about a Carnival cruise. From the laid-back ambiance to the quick, casual dining across its fleet, you’re sure to have a great time during your vacation.

Carnival Cruise Line suffered a series of IT issues over the weekend and early this week, impacting everything from debarkation to embarkation, Wi-Fi, casino operations, and Sail & Sign onboard payment methods. 

While the disruptions have now been resolved, Christine Duffy, Carnival's President, issued an official letter apologizing for the inconvenience and promising compensation for affected guests.

Carnival passengers faced lengthy embarkation delays over the weekend and into Monday after the cruise line reported IT issues that impacted multiple systems.

On Sunday, February 8, one TikToker revealed that due to the issue, all guests embarking on Carnival Celebration at PortMiami had to go through a paper boarding process. 

The 16-year-old stepbrother of the deceased teenager who was found dead on a Carnival cruise ship last year appeared before a federal judge in Miami, Florida, on Friday, February 6. 

On Nov. 7, 2025, the body of Anna Kepner, 18, of Titusville, Florida, was found stuffed underneath her cabin's bed, wrapped in blankets and covered by life vests. She had been sailing aboard Carnival Horizon, a Vista Class cruise ship owned and operated by Carnival Cruise Line, with her family.

Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line are two of the most popular and beloved cruise lines in the industry, and for good reason! Both of these cruise lines are affordable, operate expansive fleets, and are designed to appeal to a broad range of travelers. In this way, Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line both appeal to first-time cruisers, as well as families, couples, and multigenerational groups.

Although Galveston is home to Carnival's newest ship, Carnival Jubilee, an older (yet just as fun) vessel also resides in Texas.

Carnival Breeze is a Dream Class ship that debuted in 2012. While she lacks some of the technological and modern advancements that Carnival Jubilee has, Carnival Breeze makes up for it with her classic cruise charm, affordable itineraries, and a wide variety of dining options. 

Carnival Cruise Line has angered its loyal fans with its latest policy change. 

On Monday, February 2, the cruise line sent an email informing guests of its plan to raise the daily gratuity rate in April. Additionally, the price of the Bottomless Bubbles soda drink package is set to increase to nearly $12 per adult, per day. 

Carnival is set to increase gratuities for passengers for the first time since 2023.

Starting April 2, 2026, the cruise line will raise the daily gratuity rate by $1 per day, bringing the new rate for standard cabins to $17.00 per person, up from $16.00, and suites to $19.00 per person, up from $18.00. It is the same amount for all passengers, regardless of age.
