Royal Caribbean

I only had 4 days in Iceland on my European cruise. Here's why I regret not taking a land-based trip

One of the best parts about cruising is getting to visit incredible destinations with such ease. Once you’re onboard your cruise ship, you can conveniently visit numerous destinations without needing to unpack and repack your suitcase. The logistics and transportation are all taken care of-- all while enjoying fine cuisine and entertainment along the way.

5 things I liked better about Princess Cruises than Royal Caribbean

After 19 cruises with Royal Caribbean, I booked a 7-night Alaska cruise with Princess Cruises, and here’s what I liked better.

Ever since I started cruising, I’ve almost exclusively sailed with Royal Caribbean. Like most cruisers, I tend to stick to the same cruise line in order to rack up loyalty points, which can lead to exclusive benefits like complimentary drinks and private lounge access.

Royal Caribbean ships by age — from oldest to newest (2024)

Royal Caribbean International, formerly known as Royal Caribbean Cruise Line when it was founded in 1968, is one of the most popular cruise lines today. Song of Norway, their first ship, was launched two years after the company was founded.

Having held the title of largest cruise ship in the world since the debut of Freedom of the Seas in 2006, they are known for their innovative, and often, record-breaking ships.

I upgraded to a balcony cabin for $300 - here's what it looked like and why I might not do it again

I recently returned from a 12-night sailing onboard Royal Caribbean’s Jewel of the Seas, one of the oldest ships in the cruise line’s fleet.

I accidentally booked a cruise on one of the world’s most dangerous seas

Beautiful sunsets and crystal blue seas are the quintessential views you expect to find on a cruise. For me, seeing the ocean resemble a sheet of glass never gets old - and always leaves me in awe that something so powerful can also be equally as peaceful.

I booked a cruise and didn't care which ship it was on - here's why I won't do it again

When booking a cruise, typically one of the most important considerations is deciding which cruise ship you want to sail on.

Each cruise line has a wide range of ships to choose from, each with their own unique amenities and features. For example, newer ships tend to feel like floating resorts with tons to do while older ships are smaller and offer a more traditional approach to cruising. Sailing on a brand-new ship is entirely different than cruising on a 20-year-old cruise ship.

Best Royal Caribbean ships for kids by age

If you are looking into booking a Royal Caribbean cruise that your kids will enjoy but do not know where to start, look no further! With 27 ships in their fleet (28 once Utopia of the Seas launches in July 2024), Royal Caribbean has a ship that will fit your family's needs, whether you are traveling with an infant or teenager.

You will need to ensure that your child meets the age requirements of the activities that they are interested in. Otherwise, you might have some disappointed children!

Carnival Cruise Line's Amber Cove vs. Royal Caribbean’s CocoCay: Which is better?

Most of the major cruise lines, like Carnival, Norwegian, and Royal Caribbean, have their own private island or destination in the Caribbean. If you’ve sailed with Royal Caribbean or Carnival Cruise Line, two of the most popular cruise lines in the world, there’s a good chance that your itinerary included one of the cruise line’s private destinations.

Royal Caribbean check-in process

A couple of weeks before your cruise vacation officially begins, you will be able to complete Royal Caribbean's online check-in process. Doing so prior to arriving at the terminal will help speed up the physical check-in, allowing you to board the ship faster!

Comparing Carnival's Ocean Suite to Royal Caribbean's Junior Suite

As someone who cruises often, I normally find myself booking affordable inside cabin fares. These are often the cheapest accommodations on a cruise ship and provide the basic necessities and a comfortable stay. In fact, I usually pay for the inside cabin guarantee fare, meaning you do not choose the location of your cabin, but instead the cruise line assigns one to you.
