Carnival Corporation announced today, April 26, that effective August 1st 2022, the current President and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Arnold Donald, will be stepping down from their position. Donald has been appointed Vice Chair, and will be transferring to that position in August, as well as becoming a member of the Board of Directors.
As of August 1st, Arnold Donald will be the Vice Chair for the company, as well as serving on the Boards of Directors for Carnival Corporation.
Replacing Arnold Donald as CEO and President of Carnival Corporation, is Josh Weinstein. Weinstein currently holds the position of Chief Operations Officer for the company.
In a statement from Arnold Donald, “Josh is a proven executive who is well-respected throughout the company, serving in key leadership roles, driving strong business results during his tenure and playing an integral part in stewarding the company through the global pandemic.”
“Josh’s thorough understanding of our industry, operations and business strategy puts him in a tremendous position to lead the next phase of our company’s journey. With his vision, intensity and core values aligned to those of our company, I cannot think of anyone better suited for this role than Josh,” said Donald.
Prior to assuming the position of Chief Operations Officer, Weinstein was the Treasurer for Carnival Corporation for 10 years, from 2007 to 2017. In this position, Weinstein oversaw the management of the corporation’s treasury, taxes, insurance, and financial planning.
Additionally, Weinstein had the position of an attorney for the corporation in the legal department, from 2002 to 2007. Weinstein previously received his education from University of Pennsylvania, and New York University School of Law.
In Weinstein’s more recent position with the company, as Chief Operations Officer, Weinstein was in charge of overseeing all major operational functions for Carnival Corporation. This included managing operations for global maritime, global ports and destinations, global sourcing, global IT, and global auditing. Weinstein has held the position of Chief Operations Officer with Carnival Corporation for the last two years.
