Carnival cruise passengers descend into chaos in the buffet, allegedly fighting over chicken tenders

Passengers aboard a Carnival cruise ship were caught fighting in the ship's buffet after an argument quickly escalated.

Video of the fight, which is less than one minute long, was shared on Instagram and Facebook by Mike Terra. In the clip, a massive brawl breaks out in the Lido Marketplace buffet.

The incident supposedly took place on the last night of the cruise, when the vessel was just hours away from returning to Miami, Florida.

In the video, a group of guests is wreaking havoc in the buffet, screaming, throwing shoes, and even slamming one another to the ground.

"Where the f– is security?!" one bystander yelled in the footage.

"Over chicken tenders is crazy"

In the video, Terra claims that the fight started over chicken tenders, although he doesn't give any details about whether someone grabbed the last piece or tried to take too many pieces for themself.

The New York Post reached out to Terra, to whom he confirmed that he wasn't actually close enough to know what caused the fight.

"We just knew they were in line for food," he said.

In another video, Terra is seen celebrating his birthday on the cruise ship when it was docked in The Bahamas.

Based on his clip in The Bahamas and the Lido Marketplace (as well as a Facebook comment confirming the cruise departed from Miami), he was presumably sailing aboard the Carnival Sunrise, AKA the former "poop cruise" ship.

Carnival Conquest also returned to Miami, Florida, on Monday, August 18; however, the ship didn't visit Half Moon Cay, which is seen in the background of Terra's birthday video.

If that's the case, the fight happened on the final evening of a 4-night cruise to The Bahamas, with stops at Half Moon Cay and Celebration Key, Carnival's new private destination.

In another comment, Terra said the cruise was still worth it, calling the fight an "isolated incident at 2am."

Carnival Cruise Line has not issued a statement about the fight on the cruise ship.

The passengers will likely be banned from Carnival Cruise Line

Carnival doesn't play when it comes to its code of conduct. Although some of the rules may seem silly, they're in place to ensure that its fleet remains a safe place for all passengers and crew members.

Before sailing, all guests must acknowledge the code of conduct, too. In other words, you agree to all its terms before setting foot on the ship, whether you read the contract in its entirety or not.

"All guests must acknowledge and commit to our code of conduct during the check-in process, and any violation may result in a fine of $500," Carnival's policy reads.

Moreover, other guests have been banned from sailing with Carnival after fighting on board. For example, two dozen cruisers were banned after fighting in Galveston's terminal after disembarking Carnival Jubilee in April.

According to a video of the fight, the brawl began near the Zone 7 luggage pick-up area in the terminal. As tensions escalated, the group traveled away from the suitcases, knocking over signs and barricades. The group continued fighting, even when security tried to intervene.

Carnival Cruise Line issued a statement confirming that the incident occurred in the debarkation area. They turned the matter over to local law enforcement and placed 24 people on the cruise line's "Do Not Sail" list.
