Disney Cruise Line is one of the most popular, family-friendly vacation options at sea. That said, although their fares are higher than competitors', they are far from all-inclusive, and cruise WiFi is something you must be prepared to splurge on.
When budgeting for your Disney cruise, you must account for add-ons like alcoholic beverages, port adventures, spa treatments, and adult-only specialty dining. Even if you don't plan on racking up a large onboard bill, WiFi is often considered a must-have because it allows you to stay connected with friends and family back home.
The good news is that you don't need to purchase WiFi on your Disney cruise. For starters, the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App works without WiFi, which is helpful when browsing port adventures, checking showtimes, and planning your daily schedule.
In this article, we'll break down everything you need to know about Disney Cruise WiFi, including the cost, money-saving tips, and more, so you're prepared before setting foot on the ship.
Is Disney Cruise WiFi free?
Disney Cruise Line's base cruise fare does not include premium WiFi. However, guests have access to complimentary messaging through apps like iMessage and WhatsApp while onboard, even without purchasing an internet package. This means that you can stay connected with other guests and loved ones at home for no additional cost.
Additionally, guests booked in Disney's luxurious Concierge suites receive complimentary WiFi included as part of their cruise benefits.
The amount varies based on what kind of Concierge stateroom category you book. For example, Standard Concierge cabins include one "24-hour Internet Only" pass for each registered passenger, while 1-Bedroom Suites and Royal Suites receive unlimited WiFi for the duration of the voyage.
How much is WiFi on Disney cruise ships?
Now that we've established that Disney doesn't offer free WiFi, you might be wondering about the Disney cruise WiFi price for your upcoming voyage. As of May 2026, Disney offers two packages — Internet Only and Internet + Streaming.
Internet Only is suitable for things like basic web browsing, messaging, scrolling social media, and checking your emails. Internet + Streaming is necessary if you wish to stream movies and TV shows or make video calls.
The cost depends on the package, with the base Internet Only plan being the more affordable option, while the Internet + Streaming package comes at a higher daily rate.
During my four-night Bahamian voyage aboard Disney Destiny, the Internet Only package cost $27 per day. The Internet + Streaming came in at a whopping $36 per day.
Tips to save money on Disney cruise WiFi
One easy way to save money on your Disney cruise WiFi is to purchase one internet plan and rotate usage. Disney Cruise Line allows you to log in and out as you like, so it is easy to swap devices throughout the voyage.
Personally, I like to forego buying Disney's pricey packages and connect to cellular in port. Through my Verizon Wireless plan, I get international travel coverage for $12 per day, which lets me call, text, and use data for things like social media while the ship is docked in port.
You can also purchase an eSIM through services like Saily or Holafly, which will give you international coverage in port for around $5 per day.
This makes it easy — and affordable — to stay connected, while also forcing me to disconnect while at sea. It's okay not to always be online!
Unfortunately, Disney doesn't generally offer pre-cruise sales on their internet packages. Instead, guests purchase WiFi once onboard the ship through the Disney Cruise Line Navigator mobile app. That said, Doctor Disney reported that the line is testing a pilot program aboard the Disney Wish that allows guests to pre-purchase their internet packages for a 15% discount.
Does Castaway Cay have WiFi?
Castaway Cay is Disney Cruise Line's private island in The Bahamas. It's a popular stop on many Bahamian and Caribbean itineraries. In fact, the cruise line's newest Wish Class ships stop at Castaway Cay on nearly every voyage!
Thankfully, you can rest assured knowing that if you purchase an internet package for your sailing, it will also work ashore at Castaway Cay for no extra cost. The included iMessage and WhatsApp chat functions work on the island, too — though the service isn't always the most reliable.
The same goes for Lighthouse Point at Lookout Cay. While there isn't free WiFi ashore, you can connect to the internet with your Disney package.
