Disney Cruise Line has never been known for building the world's largest cruise ships, and that was intentional. Rather than focusing on size, Disney always prioritized themed experiences, immersive entertainment, and top-notch service — until recently.
In March 2026, Disney launched its biggest ship, sailing exclusively from Singapore. At over 208,000 gross tons, 1,122 feet long, and with a passenger capacity of around 6,700, the Disney Adventure ship dwarfs other vessels in the fleet.
Disney's smallest ships, the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder, measure 84,000 gross tons and have a passenger capacity of just over 2,700 guests, according to the cruise line.
Here's everything you need to know about the new Disney cruise ship that has blended the line's signature storytelling with the mega-ship experience.
New Disney Cruise Ship 2026
The Disney Adventure ship wasn't built for Disney Cruise Line. Rather, the Global Class vessel was originally ordered for the now-defunct Asia-based Dream Cruises. Disney purchased the ship's hull and outfitted it with Disney-themed entertainment, immersive dining, and magical accommodations.
However, because Disney Cruise Line had little involvement in the design, it differs significantly from other ships in the fleet. For example, Disney Adventure is the only Disney vessel to have a family-friendly specialty restaurant. Traditionally, the extra-charge restaurants were reserved exclusively for adults.
Moreover, the ship is the only one in the fleet that doesn't offer itineraries to any ports of call. Instead, every sailing is technically a "cruise to nowhere," meaning the ship is the one and only destination — unless you combine the voyage with a pre- or post-cruise stay in Singapore.
Onboard, guests can explore 7 magically themed areas:
- Disney Imagination Garden (open‑air courtyard inspired by a century of Disney storytelling)
- Town Square (elegant central gathering space with easy access to popular venues like the Walt Disney Theater, Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, and Hollywood Spotlight Club restaurant)
- San Fransokyo Street (vibrant urban market straight from Big Hero 6)
- Marvel Landing (action‑packed outdoor area home to the Ironcycle Test Run rollercoaster, Pym Quantum Racers, and Groot Galaxy Spin)
- Wayfinder Bay (serene outdoor relaxation zone inspired by Moana)
- Disney Discovery Reef (an underwater-themed area with unique restaurants, bars, and more inspired by Disney and Pixar tales)
- Toy Story Place (water play zone that celebrates the Toy Story franchise with colorful slides, a family-friendly pool, interactive splash pads, and more)
In terms of entertainment, Disney Adventure offers Broadway-style performances, deck parties, and spectacular fireworks shows. Regardless of whether it's an exclusive show or something found on other vessels in the fleet, guests can expect cutting-edge technology, elaborate costumes, and jaw-dropping special effects.
Shows aboard the Disney Adventure include Avengers Assemble! (Garden Stage), The Lion King: Celebration in the Sky (top deck fireworks show), Duffy and The Friend Ship (Garden Stage), Moana: Call of the Sea (Wayfinder Bay), Disney Seas the Adventure (Walt Disney Theater), Remember (Walt Disney Theater), and Baymax Super Exercise Expo (Garden Stage).
Moving on, there's no shortage of dining venues on the Disney Adventure ship. From six complimentary, rotational dining rooms to the cruise line's first-ever hibachi restaurant and an eclectic bubble tea café, it's impossible to try everything during a short three- or four-night cruise.

Disney cruise cost: How much is a vacation on the Disney Adventure?
Disney cruises are not the most affordable family vacations on the market. However, many can justify the higher price tag with attentive service, well-kept vessels, thoughtful touches, and world-class entertainment.
According to Disney's website, a three-night cruise on the Disney Adventure starts at $530 per person for a standard interior cabin (Nov. 16, 2026, departure). However, fares can go as high as $8,800 for lavish Concierge suites (July 20, 2026, departure).
Four-night cruises are a little more expensive, with the lowest fare starting at around $705 per person (Oct. 22, 2026, departure).
Is Disney building a new cruise ship?
Beyond Disney Adventure, Disney Cruise Line has multiple ship orders in the books. Disney Believe, the line's next Wish Class vessel, is set to debut in 2027.
After that, they'll add one more Wish Class ship to the fleet before focusing their efforts on a new class of smaller vessels.
The first of these ships is slated to debut in 2029 and measure around 105,000 gross tons, making them larger than the Disney Magic and Wonder but smaller than the Disney Dream and Fantasy.
