Founded in 1972, Carnival Cruise Line is celebrating its 50th birthday this year, and will be introducing a new celebration space onboard Carnival Celebration, its newest ship.

Carnival Celebration is set to debut this November 2022. The new venue onboard Carnival Celebration will be called ‘The Golden Jubilee’. This new space onboard will consist of a bar and lounge, and its design will highlight Carnival Cruise Line’s evolution throughout the last 50 years.

The announcement was made this week at the Seatrade Cruise Global Conference in Miami.

Carnival Corporation announced today, April 26, that effective August 1st 2022, the current President and Chief Executive Officer of the company, Arnold Donald, will be stepping down from their position. Donald has been appointed Vice Chair, and will be transferring to that position in August, as well as becoming a member of the Board of Directors.

As of August 1st, Arnold Donald will be the Vice Chair for the company, as well as serving on the Boards of Directors for Carnival Corporation.

Effective May 1st 2022 Carnival Cruise Line will be increasing their daily gratuities from the current rate.

In a statement to currently booked passengers, Carnival Cruise Line said the following, “Our shipboard team members work hard to provide exceptional and friendly service, so we hope you will agree that this slight increase is well deserved.”

Carnival, the world’s largest cruise line, is celebrating 50 years of fun-filled cruising and is capping the year off with the launch of its newest ship.

The aptly named Carnival Celebration is the second in the excel class of ships and will be based in Miami, sailing on eastern and western itineraries.

Like its sister ship Mardi Gras, this new ship continues the fun with plenty of onboard activities, lots of food and beverage options that will please cruisers of any age.

With the continued popularity of this northern destination, Carnival Cruise Line is offering a number of cruises to Alaska in 2022.

There are sailings every week between May and September on the cruise line’s refurbished Carnival Freedom and Carnival Miracle. Guests can choose from 8 scenic itineraries that voyage to top Alaskan ports as well as scenic cruising of stunning glaciers.  

Carnival unveiled its plan on when all of its ships will be able to restart operations.

Carnival Cruise Line announced on Thursday the schedule for when its entire U.S. fleet will be back in operations.

The new target date is for all 22 of its U.S.-based ships to return to service by March 2022.

My last cruise before the pandemic was a late November 2019 sailing on Norwegian Encore. I was booked on MSC Meraviglia in March 2020, but the world shut down a week before I was supposed to depart.
