Carnival announces Cruise Director and Entertainment Director for Carnival Sunrise

Carnival Cruise Line announced its Cruise Director and Entertainment director for the Carnival Sunshine, following the ship's major refurbishment.

Previously sailing as Carnival Triumph, the ship is currently undergoing a $200 million bow-to-stern transformation in Cadiz, Spain, and will re-emerge as Carnival Sunrise featuring all of the line’s popular, branded food, beverage and entertainment experiences.

Emeril Lagasse to open first restaurant at sea on Carnival Mardi Gras

Carnival Cruise Line announced a partnership with Celebrity Chef Emeril Lagasse which will see Emeril open his first-ever restaurant at sea on the Carnival Mardi Gras.

The new restaurant, Emeril's Bistro 1396, will be located in the ship's French Quarter zone of the ship.

Named after Mardi Gras’ hull number at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, the bistro will celebrate New Orleans’ rich culture with Creole favorites and daily specials. 

Carnival Cruise Line Mixologist Sanja Cvijetic Named ‘Bartender of the Year’ at the 2019 Bacardí Cruise Competition

Carnival Cruise Line bartender Sanja Cvijetic won the 2019 BACARDI Legacy Cruise Competition in San Juan, Puerto Rico, competing against more than 2,000 entries from major cruise lines’ top bartenders worldwide. This marks the fourth time in the past eight years that a Carnival mixologist has earned the coveted award.

The BACARDÍ® Legacy Cruise Competition is an annual global search to find the best bartender in the cruise industry with a cocktail that can stand among Bacardí’s heritage classics. This was Cvijetic’s first bartender competition.

Carnival to launch new Bahamas port in 2021

Carnival Cruise Line announced today it will develop a new port in the city of Freeport, Bahamas.

Cruise Critic is reporting that local media outlets are confirming that the cruise line plans were revealed at a public meeting on February 4. The initial plans show the new port will be named "Grand Port" and offer guests dining locations, entertainment and retail spots.

Carnival reveals new details for new Mardi Gras ship

Carnival Cruise Line pulled back the curtain today on the design details for its next new cruise ship, Mardi Gras. 

The new vessel will debut in 2020 and be the first cruise ship in North America powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). In addition, the ship will be stacked with exciting new experiences that are distributed across six themed zones.

Built by Munich-based Maurer Rides, BOLT™: Ultimate Sea Coaster™ is a heart-pounding rush of adrenaline offering nearly 800 feet of exhilarating twists, turns and drops with riders reaching speeds of nearly 40 miles per hour.

BOLT is an all-electric roller coaster that allows two riders in a motorcycle-like vehicle to race along a track 187 feet above sea level, enabling guests to experience the sea in an exciting new way with breathtaking 360-degree views.
