Royal Caribbean International, which was formerly known as Royal Caribbean Cruise Line when it was founded in 1968 in Norway, is one of the most popular cruise lines today. Having held the title of largest cruise ship in the world since 2006, they're known for their innovative ships filled from head-to-toe with thrilling activities.

They've also got some of the best entertainment at sea, with their Oasis Class ships allowing guests to watch Broadway-style musicals and high-diving acrobatic spectaculars at the AquaTheatre. 

Royal Caribbean International is setting sail on their first-ever world cruise in December 2023. Over the course of 274 nights, Serenade of the Sails will sail to more than 150 destinations in 65 countries and visit 11 great wonders of the world like the Great Wall of China, Petra archaeological site in Jordan, Taj Mahal, and Great Barrier Reef.

More than 40 of the ports are rarely available on other itineraries or are brand new to Royal Caribbean!

With the introduction of the new Icon of the Seas this week, the cruise industry saw a record breaking capacity of 9,950 passengers and crew, a number few people could have imagined a few years ago.

This also begs the question - how much bigger can cruise ships get? How many more people could a ship possibly hold, and how will it float?

I recently cruised with Carnival Cruise Line for the first time in a decade. As someone who loves cruising with Royal Caribbean, it was fun to experience something that felt totally different than what I am used to. 

Every cruise line adds their own special flair to cruising and each cruise ship has their own personality. While Royal Caribbean’s mega-ships are packed with onboard thrills and stunning entertainment, Carnival Cruise Line focuses on having a party-like atmosphere on its ships.
