Carnival bans over 15 passengers after massive brawl at Miami cruise port

Carnival Fight, Hero

Over one dozen passengers were banned from Carnival Cruise Line after a massive brawl broke out at the Miami cruise port on Monday, June 22.

According to The Daily Mail, footage of the fight involving 16 disembarking passengers was captured, showing one woman ducking under a line divider and charging at another guest.

At this point, a third passenger stepped in, grabbing one of the other women's hair. They continued struggling for several minutes, pulling at each other with their bare feet on the floor.

The fight escalated when several men and women intervened as U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers tried to break up the brawl to no avail.

Personal belongings, like bulky suitcases, were thrown, and one male was captured holding a stanchion above his head while those around him screamed. Another bystander was heard screaming, "That's a kid! That's a kid!" and one male scooped up a younger child, keeping them safe from the ensuing violence.

Thankfully, the fight was eventually broken up, and those involved continued on with their day. The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office (MDSO) told The Daily Mail that the parties didn't want to press charges against each other. As such, nobody was arrested.

That said, everyone involved ended up on Carnival's "Do Not Sail List," though it remains unclear what sparked the chaotic brawl between the two families who had been sailing aboard the Carnival Conquest

"The incident occurred in the debarkation area under the authority of U.S. Customs and Border Patrol," Carnival told The Daily Mail in a statement, "We are appreciative of law enforcement's swift response and handling of the matter. We do not tolerate such behavior."

Supposedly, no serious injuries or hospital transports were reported.

Not the first time a fight broke out during disembarkation

In April 2025, two dozen cruise passengers were banned from sailing with Carnival after a brawl broke out in Galveston's cruise terminal.

Footage shared on social media shows a large group of guests shoving past barriers inside the terminal after disembarking Carnival Jubilee. At least one person was pushed to the ground and punched during the chaotic scene, with security guards trying to break up the violent fight.

The fight began near the Zone 7 luggage pick-up area. As tensions escalated, the fight traveled away from the suitcases, knocking over signs and barricades. This further disrupted those trying to leave the terminal and begin traveling home.

"The incident occurred in the debarkation area under the authority of U.S. Customs and Border Protection,” Carnival Cruise Line told USA TODAY.

"This matter has been turned over to law enforcement. Meanwhile, we will not tolerate such behavior, and 24 people have been placed on our Do Not Sail list."
