Royal Caribbean announces new summer 2022 cruises you can now book

Royal Caribbean has released new summer summer 2022 cruises that boast cruises across six ships  from Florida, Texas and New York, which include new itineraries and evening stays.

The new summer 2022 lineup is available to book immediately and is for itineraries 5 nights or longer. The cruise line will announce its remaining Caribbean summer 2022 deployment early next year.

Royal Caribbean announces Alaska 2022 cruises

Royal Caribbean announced it will offer Alaska cruises in 2022 across 4 cruise ships.

The new sailings that visit many different destinations in Alaska, including the culturally rich towns of Haines and Sitka, Seward’s wild natural beauty, and the majestic vistas of the Inside Passage and Hubbard Glacier.

Royal Caribbean’s 2022 Alaska cruises open for bookings on Wednesday, Nov. 11; Crown & Anchor Society loyalty members are able to book today.

Royal Caribbean will use volunteers for test cruises

Before Royal Caribbean can offer cruises again, it will need volunteers to test out cruises to ensure they are safe.

Royal Caribbean's Senior Vice President, Sales, Trade Support and Service, Vicki Freed, told travel agents during a webinar that volunteers will be needed to test cruise ships in order to satisfy the new health protocols.

It is not determined yet how they will ask for volunteers.

Royal Caribbean reports business update with third quarter results

Royal Caribbean Group released its third quarter 2020 results, in addition to a business update for investors to get a sense of where the company is during the shutdown.

On March 13, 2020 and due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company voluntarily suspended its global cruise operation.

The company resumed limited cruise operations outside of the U.S. in July with three vessels from TUI cruises and two vessels from Hapag Lloyd, and in September, for a limited period, with one Silversea ship.

Royal Caribbean announces winter 2021-2022 redeployment

Royal Caribbean updated its 2021-22 winter sailings with new cruise ship redeployments in the Caribbean and Australia.

The changes were made based on, "market research and valuable feedback from guests and travel partners around the world", which the cruise line claims will add variety in departure ports and itinerary length.

Royal Caribbean trademarks something called a Tracelet

Royal Caribbean filed a trademark for a wearable device that might be part of the cruise line's effort to restart cruises safely.

RoyalCaribbeanBlog.com first reported the discovery that Royal Caribbean had filed a trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the term "Tracelet".

The first Royal Caribbean cruises will restart in Singapore in December

Royal Caribbean announced that it will finally be able to restart cruises, beginning with cruises from Singapore in December.

Quantum of the Seas will begin cruises that visit no ports, beginning with a December 1 cruises. Royal Caribbean has 3- and 4-night cruises available to book that are only available to residents of Singapore.

The cruise line has worked for months with the Singapore Government to offer these pilot cruises.

Royal Caribbean cancels all of its November 2020 cruises

Royal Caribbean Group joined the growing list of cruise lines that have cancelled their November 2020 cruises.

Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises all cancelled their November 2020 sailings.

Royal Caribbean Group will be extending the suspension of sailings to include those departing on or before November 30, 2020, excluding sailings from Hong Kong.

Royal Caribbean shuffles its summer 2021 cruise ship schedule

Royal Caribbean has changed its plans for five cruise ships in summer 2021.

The changes for sailings in Europe and the Caribbean, where ships are changing homeports and in some cases, not conducting a transatlantic crossing.

Here is a summary of the changes:

Adventure of the Seas: Previously scheduled to be deployed from Copenhagen and Stockholm, the ship moves to Barcelona instead to sail a mixture of four-and-five-night Mediterranean cruises. Ports of call can include La Spezia and Rome, Italy; Ajaccio, Nice and Marseille, France; and Palma and Ibiza, Spain.

Royal Caribbean adds 36 foot high name to side of its newest cruise ship

Royal Caribbean is going big with the name of its next new cruise ship, Odyssey of the Seas.

All Royal Caribbean ships have their name emblazoned on the side of the bow, but Odyssey of the Seas' name is really big.

Measuring 11.2 meters (36 feet) high, new photos of Odyssey of the Seas show the name on the side of the ship.
