A hospital in Cancun, Mexico forced a cruise ship passenger who was brought to in for a medical emergency to leave after failing to prove the patient could pay for the surgery.
Chase Kehler, 22 years old from Little Rock, Arkansas, was diagnosed by cruise ship doctors as suffering with acute appendicitis which, if left untreated, can be life-threatening.
FOX16 reports Chase's cruise left New Orleans on the Carnival Triumph when the Mexican Coast Guard had to be called into evacuate Kehler to the Amerimed private hospital in Cancun, where the family said admission cost $6,000 and surgery came with a $25,000 price tag.
