Oceania Cruises announces plans to overhaul two cruise ships

Oceania Cruises

Oceania Cruises will conduct a ship-wide refurbishment on two of its vessels as part of the next phase of its OceaniaNEXT experience elevation initiative.

This next phase, may be Oceania Cruises’ most ambitious yet, as it is seeking to completely renovate and reimagine the ships Riviera and Marina in its fleet. Oceania Cruises aims to make two of its ships better-than-new.

This means that once these two ships have been completely re-inspired from stern-to-stern, Oceania Cruises will be operating a fleet of completely new vessels.

These two new ships are currently set to make their re-debut in December 2022 and November 2023. Both the Riviera and Marina are set to be made better than new, as every surface of the ships will be receiving a refresh. Every suite and cabin onboard will be brand-new in its re-imagining. New artwork and new furnishings will also be featured throughout the ships as part of the re-inspired design onboard.

In a statement from the president and CEO of Oceania Cruises, Howard Sherman, “At Oceania Cruises, we continue to raise the bar and elevate the guest experience at every opportunity. Whether it's innovative new culinary concepts, immersive new destination experiences, or presenting our guests with ships that are not just better, but better than new, Oceania Cruises sets the standard by which others are judged.”

No space of the two ships will be left untouched by the re-imagination and renovation. Every inch of the ships will be new, with a brighter and lighter design that features nuanced shades of the sea and sky. However, Oceania Cruises ensures that its trademark warm and personalized service will remain.

“Our people remain at the heart of what we do, and the officers and crew of Oceania Cruises are the finest at sea. While the onboard experience continues to surprise and delight, the way our staff approaches the art of service remains delightfully familiar, warm, and gracious,” says Sherman.

The better-than-new Rivera will make its debut on December 7th 2022, and will set sail on a 16-day Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Caribbean itinerary, embarking from Rome, and ending in Miami.

The Marina will make its re-debut on November 13th 2023, and will make a 7-day sailing from Barcelona to Lisbon.

Once the Rivera and Marina set sail after their re-imagining, they will join a completely better-than-new fleet. Alongside the ships Insignia, Regatta, Sirena, and Nautica. All of which have recently reentered service, over the last couple years, after each had gone under the same process or renovation and re-inspiration. This process of re-imagining their ships, Oceania Cruises calls ‘OceaniaNEXT’
