The cruise line Virgin Voyages has revealed the name of its newest vessel to be Brilliant Lady.

Brilliant Lady is currently being constructed in Italy by the Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri. The fourth ship in Virgin Voyages’ fleet is scheduled to make its debut in 2023.

In regards to the naming of its newest ship, Virgin Voyages stated, “we sought out a name that exemplifies our brand’s values and ethos, the truest representation of our mission to ‘create an epic sea change for all’. As our goal has always been to create a bright and radiant experience for our sailors - much like the sparkling seas Brilliant Lady will sail on - it was only appropriate that our fourth ship name reflect that.”

Brilliant Lady will be apart of the same ship class as its predecessors, Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, and Resilient Lady.

“In naming the ship Brilliant Lady, we also aimed to highlight the powerful intelligence of women across the globe. Brilliant Lady represents the smart, thoughtful, boundary-pushing minds of women around the world - unafraid of owning their intelligence, aware of their importance, and confidently in touch with their own sense of self-worth,” said Virgin Voyages about choosing the name of its newest ship.

Virgin Voyages’ newest ship is set to weigh 110,000 gross tons, and will be able to accommodate about 2,700 passengers once constructed.

Virgin Voyages has not yet announced specifics on Brilliant Lady’s itineraries or features.

Before the ship debuts, Brilliant Lady will undergo many important construction milestones and markers, including extensive sea trials. Once Brilliant Lady has completed sea trials, it will be an indicator that the ship is nearing its debut, and first passenger sailings.

Following the same theme of its other ships, the Virgin Voyages ship Brilliant Lady will also be an adults-only ship.
