Virgin Voyages

Who owns Virgin Voyages?

Virgin Voyages is one of the newest cruise lines at sea. However, it’s also one of the most exclusive.

Unlike mainstream lines like Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and Norwegian, Virgin Voyages caters exclusively to adults. That means you have to be 18 or older to sail on one of its striking scarlet-red funneled ships.

Virgin Voyages overhauls cruise fares, adds no-frills option

Virgin Voyages is making waves with a pricing shake-up — and not in a good way.

When the adults-only cruise line launched in August 2021, people quickly became fans of its inclusive pricing structure.

Although add-ons like alcoholic drinks, shore excursions, and spa treatments always cost extra, guests did not have to worry about Wi-Fi, essential drinks, and, most importantly, gratuities.

5 things I liked and 3 I hated about my adult-only cruise on Virgin Voyages

I recently returned from my first Virgin Voyages cruise, and there were a few aspects of my vacation that I preferred over family-friendly lines like Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and MSC Cruises.

I've been cruising since I was five years old. Since then, I've been on over 30 cruises, ranging from the largest ships in the world (i.e., Icon of the Seas) to more modest vessels.

Being in my mid-20s and child-free, I'm often annoyed by the rambunctious children on cruise ships, particularly during peak travel periods.

I took my first Virgin Voyages cruise on its newest ship. Here are my brutally honest thoughts

Virgin Voyages is unlike any other cruise line at sea. Not only are they the only mainstream adults-only cruise line, but they also revolutionized the cruise dining experience by getting rid of crowded buffets and noisy dining rooms.

For years, I've debated going on a Virgin cruise. I had heard mixed reviews about the ships, with some claiming the food wasn't good and the tiny pool deck was a nuisance. However, I had heard stellar things about Virgin's unique entertainment, ranging from murder mystery shows to bingo hosted by drag queens.

I chose an inside cabin on my recent Virgin Voyages cruise because it was the cheapest option. I loved my little shoebox

Interior cruise cabins are controversial. Some love them because of their value, while others can't imagine spending seven nights in a windowless stateroom.

Generally speaking, I fall somewhere in between. Although they aren't my preferred cruise room, I can be easily convinced to book an inside cabin if the deal is right.

Recently, I sailed in an interior stateroom on Virgin Voyages' newest cruise ship, Brilliant Lady. The 5-night voyage took us from New York City to Bermuda for an overnight stay.

First look at Virgin Voyages' new Brilliant Lady cruise ship

Virgin Voyages' newest ship finally hit the high seas.

Brilliant Lady set sail from New York City on Friday, September 5, on her highly anticipated "MerMaiden" voyage. Now, Virgin has four adult-only ships in its modest fleet.

During her inaugural year, Brilliant Lady will offer a variety of itineraries, ranging from 11- and 12-night Southern Caribbean cruises to week-long escapes to the Mexican Riviera and Virgin's first-ever Alaskan voyages.

Cruise passenger attacks another traveler for dancing barefoot in ship cocktail lounge, F.B.I. says

The C.E.O. of a California-based insurance company was arrested by the F.B.I. after attacking another passenger while onboard a Virgin Voyages cruise to the Caribbean.

According to a criminal complaint, Kenneth D. DeGiorgio allegedly tried to choke another guest on March 31 while sailing aboard Resilient Lady. The cruise ship was about 70 nautical miles west of Fort-de-France, Martinique.

Cruise line tests pricey unlimited drink package for the first time

The cruise line that flaunted a $120,000 unlimited cruise pass has begun testing drink packages aboard one of its adult-only ships.

When Virgin Voyages launched, they were adamant about not offering all-inclusive drink packages like their competitors.

Two cruise lines are trying Alaska, and it will shake up the industry

Those looking to explore The Last Frontier on a cruise ship will have more choices starting in 2026, with MSC Cruises and Virgin Voyages announcing their inaugural sailings to Alaska.

MSC Cruises will bring MSC Poesia, a Musica Class ship launched in 2008, to Seattle, Washington, offering 7-night cruises to Alaska and Canada beginning on May 11. Passengers can expect visits to popular ports like Juneau, Icy Strait Point, Ketchikan, and more.

10 things I loved and hated about my first Virgin Voyages cruise

On any vacation, you are bound to experience things that you loved and things that you wish you could have changed, and cruises are no exception. Sailing on a new-to-me cruise line is exciting, as I get to experience everything with fresh eyes, and I don’t always know what to expect.

I recently returned from a 4-night cruise to Key West and Bimini onboard Virgin Voyage’s Scarlet Lady. Virgin Voyages is an adults-only cruise line and is known for their trendy, sleek, and modern cruise ships.
