Guests onboard MSC Meraviglia's November 30 cruise were notified that their itinerary will be adjusted due to planned maintenance that affects the ship's sailing speed.
"Due to planned maintenance affecting the ship's cruising speed, we have made some necessary adjustments to your itinerary below," the email notice reads.
"Please rest assured that this maintenance does not affect the safety of our guests or crew, which remains our highest priority."
The Meraviglia Class ship will set sail as planned from the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal on November 30, 2025. The following sea day is also unaffected.
However, MSC Meraviglia’s arrival in Port Canaveral, Florida, has been delayed until 5:30 p.m. on Dec. 2, with departure set for 9:00 p.m.
As such, all shore excursions in Port Canaveral have been cancelled. Guests who booked prepaid tours through MSC Cruises will receive a refund to the original form of payment — no action is required.
"Additionally, our arrival at Ocean Cay Marine Reserve, Bahamas will be delayed by approximately two hours," the email continues.
"This ship is now scheduled to arrive at 11:00 a.m. instead of 9:00 a.m. To ensure you still have plenty of time to enjoy our beautiful island, we have extended our stay and will now depart at 8:30 p.m. instead of 7:00 p.m."
The Nassau port call remains unchanged. MSC Meraviglia is expected to arrive at 8:00 a.m. on Nov. 4 and depart at 6:00 p.m.
To compensate for the last-minute changes, booked passengers will receive a $100 nonrefundable onboard cruise credit per person (up to $200 per stateroom).
This credit can be used for any onboard purchases, including products and services in the ship's shops, shore excursions, spa treatments, specialty dining, and more.
Future sailings will also be impacted
According to Facebook comments in the MSC Meraviglia Fans group, passengers on the Dec. 7 cruise received a similar email, explaining that the maintenance issues will impact the sailing's itinerary.
"I got one for the cruise after, but not this one," wrote Ellen Buhrow.
Lynn Derham-Zarrillo added, "I’m leaving December 7 and they’re doing the same thing. I just got my email."
