Guests hoping to embark on a child-free vacation now have another option to consider.
Oceania Cruises will exclusively welcome guests aged 18 and older for all new reservations for future voyages made on or after January 7, 2026. That said, all existing reservations with travelers under the age of 18 will be honored.
"Our guests have consistently shared that the tranquil environment aboard our ships is one of the primary reasons they return time and time again," said Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Oceania Cruises.
"By transitioning to an adults-only experience, we are enhancing the very essence of the Oceania Cruises journey — one defined by sophistication, serenity, and discovery."
The change highlights Oceania’s Your World. Your Way® approach, which allows passengers the freedom to explore at their own pace, savor each destination, and enjoy the fellowship of like-minded travelers.
Extensive research from loyal guests, travel partners, and new-to-brand passengers shows that Oceania primarily appeals to mature, affluent travelers who value a serene atmosphere, sophisticated service, and an unhurried pace.
Moreover, Chief Commercial Officer Nathan Hickman told USA TODAY that many passengers already assumed that Oceania was an adult-only cruise line, aligning with the fact that 50% of Oceania's guests are between the ages of 65 and 75.
Oceania is a small cruise line, operating a fleet of just 8 ships. However, the fleet is expected to grow with the addition of 4 Sonata Class ships between 2027 and 2035.
These vessels will be the largest built for the cruise line, coming in at around 86,000 gross tons with a passenger capacity of 1,450 guests. Currently, the biggest Oceania ships are the Allura and Vista, while the smallest are the 30,000 gross ton Regatta Class vessels.
According to Oceania's website, the cheapest cruise starts at $1,785 per guest for a weeklong voyage from Barcelona to Rome.

Other adult only cruise lines
Oceania joins Virgin Voyages and Viking as one of the few cruise lines catering exclusively to adult travelers. Recently, Carnival Cruise Line has also begun offering select adult-only voyages.
