No, Carnival won't offer adult-only cruises

Carnival's series of adult-only cruises has been a hit. Unfortunately, cruisers shouldn't expect a shift in the cruise line's target demographic.

John Heald, Carnival's Brand Ambassador, confirmed via Facebook that the cruise line's target audience will always be families.

"[W]e are and always will be a proud family cruise line and I don’t ever want you to think that this is changing," he wrote when responding to a query about whether they'd offer more options for cruisers without children.

8 big changes coming to Carnival Cruise Line in 2026

If you're planning a Carnival cruise in 2026, you’ll want to understand the changes and additions the cruise line is making.

Although cruisers should not expect a brand-new ship in 2026 (Carnival Festivale isn't scheduled to enter service until 2027), Carnival is making some changes that will impact the overall guest experience — for better or worse.

From overhauling the cruise line's loyalty program to rebranding its private island, here are 8 big changes you can expect to take place across Carnival's fleet in 2026.

Carnival Cruise Director Schedule (2026)

Carnival cruise directors are some of the liveliest, most personable entertainment personalities at sea.

All of Carnival's cruise directors are at the center of many onboard activities, from leading dances at the sailaway party to hosting game shows.

Cruise directors also keep guests informed about what's happening around the ship. You shouldn't be surprised if you hear your cruise director's voice come over the public address system at least once per day.

I only book a Carnival cruise if it's going to the company's private destination

Cruise lines are making their private destinations more exciting and appealing than ever before. From Royal Caribbean’s Perfect Day at CocoCay to Carnival’s brand-new Celebration Key, these private destinations offer laid-back and stress-free days ashore for guests.

I’ve cruised with Carnival Cruise Line many times over the years, including my first sailing in high school aboard Carnival Destiny. Over the years, I’ve sailed on other ships, including the now-retired Carnival Ecstasy and the cruise line’s newest ship, Carnival Jubilee.

Carnival Cruise Guide: Ships, Food, & More (2026)

Carnival Cruise Line is one of the biggest cruise lines in the world by passenger capacity, with its fleet of 29 ships. Although its "fun ships" predominantly attract Americans, the cruise line sails around the world in regions like Alaska, the Caribbean, Mexico, and Australia.

The cruise line is known for having some of the most casual, laid-back ships at sea and brings many families on board thanks to its fantastic kids' programming and childcare options.

Carnival bans passenger after caught smuggling alcohol on bachelorette cruise

Alcohol on cruise ships is expensive, which is why some brave travelers try to smuggle their own liquor onboard. However, one cruiser's bachelorette party was ruined after she was caught with liquor in a fake tampon flask.

TikTok user Maddie (@madisonwest2000) of Fort Worth, Texas, shared a video explaining how her poor decision resulted in a lifetime ban from Carnival Cruise Line.

Carnival wants to give cruisers a better experience: Changes coming to Celebration Key's dining

Carnival wants guests to be happier at Celebration Key.

The cruise line received a lot of backlash when it announced that cruisers were only entitled to one complimentary meal

Initially, guests could use their Island Eats voucher for 25% off a meal at one of the destination's full-service restaurants.

Comparing Carnival Balcony Cabins: Standard vs. Cove vs. Extended

Carnival ships have different categories of balcony cabins, so what's different between each one?

Although they aren't the cheapest staterooms, balconies are arguably the most popular choice for a cruise ship cabin.

Compared to tiny interior staterooms, they have much more space and, most importantly, a private outdoor verandah.

Carnival introduces new lunch option to make dining easier for families

Carnival Cruise Line's Family Express lunch menus are already a hit. The new Lido Marketplace selections are perfect for selective eaters, while still offering enough variety for the rest of the family.

John Heald, Carnival's Brand Ambassador, confirmed the Family Express lunch menus are available on Carnival Vista, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Celebration, and Carnival Jubilee.

Celebration Key Complete Guide: Everything to know about Carnival's private destination in The Bahamas

Celebration Key is Carnival Cruise Line’s newest private destination in The Bahamas, and it’s a much-anticipated port stop on Caribbean cruise itineraries.
