Those who have cruised before know how important the Cruise Director is. They play a pivotal role in ensuring each guest has a memorable experience by coordinating activities and hosting events.
Kyndall “Fire” Magyar, Cruise Director of the brand-new Carnival Jubilee based out of Galveston, Texas, took to social media to give interested cruisers a glimpse into her daily life. The video shared on her Facebook account has received over 3,000 likes.
With Carnival Jubilee making Texas her home, it is fitting that Fire, who is from Brock, Texas, serves as the Cruise Director on a ship that honors the spirit and pride of the Lone Star State.
A few years ago, John Heald, Carnival Cruise Line's Brand Ambassador, posted a Q&A with Fire on his Facebook, revealing that her love of cruises began in 2002 when her family took a 3-day cruise aboard Carnival Fascination. Following her initial voyage, her family became frequent cruisers, opting to sail for "anything and everything," including birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and family reunions.
In addition to being the Cruise Director on Carnival Jubilee, Fire has worked on Carnival Liberty, Breeze, Splendor, Ecstasy, and Vista.
Her favorite part about being a Cruise Director is the genuine connections with passengers. "The job comes with quite the spotlight and you go from being just another [small-town] girl to THE person some people base their entire vacation around," the post reads, "My heart beams when guests allow me to be a part of their memories made and the moments we share a family onboard."

Family Game Night & Tailgate
At the beginning of the video, Fire shows herself getting ready for the evening, going as far as packing a bag since she has to change clothes between some events.
I've always thought being stylish has to be part of the job requirement—Cruise Directors are always some of the best-dressed people onboard!
After finishing up, Fire heads to the Officer mess. That evening, she ate with the Chief Engineer, the Staff Chief, and the Entertainment Director. "We've got our own little salad bar, as well as some options that we get to order," she says.
The Officer mess differs from the crew mess, where most crew members dine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Unlike the cozy Officer mess, the crew mess is designed for efficiency. The buffet-style meals accommodate the crew's busy schedules. Still, there are typically plenty of options, from salads to grilled meats, pastas, and desserts.
Fire was booked back-to-back after dinner, starting with the "What's Age Got to Do With It" game show where she had "...four fantastic families up on stage for [the] larger-than-life game show where [they] find out if adults really do have the right answers."
Following the game show, Fire quickly changed and headed to Center Stage to host the Lone Star Tailgate which celebrates the spirit of all things Texas with games and giveaways promising cruisers of all ages an evening of fun.

Like during a football game, the Carnival Playlist Production cast took the stage for a mesmerizing "halftime performance." "It is always an absolute treasure," Fire remarks.
After the halftime show, Fire quickly shifts gears to lead a brand-new line dancing class where she teaches passengers classic line dances, as well as a few new ones.
The class is the perfect way for guests to get into the spirit of fun and community. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or a first-timer, everyone is sure to pick up a new move or two.
"After the line dances, our Backyard Band takes to the stage with 'Texas Tribute Live,' a chance for us to put those line dances to use to all sorts of different songs in all sorts of different genes but all featuring artists who originally came from Texas," she explains.
Carnival Jubilee is the newest "FUN" ship at sea
Carnival Jubilee entered service in December 2023 with sailings from Galveston, Texas, to the Western Caribbean. Jubilee was built specifically to sail from Texas, and there are nods to the Lone Star State throughout the ship, including the Texas star on the ship's bow.
Measuring a whopping 180,000 gross registered tons with a passenger capacity of over 5,200 and 1,700 crew members, this Excel Class ship is designed to deliver the ultimate cruising experience.
From BOLT: the Ultimate Sea Coaster to the laid-back adults-only Serenity Deck and fan-favorite dining venues, Carnival Jubilee offers something for everyone.
