Celebrity Cruises

In early 2023, my whole family went on our first cruises with Celebrity. I went on a 4-day Key West and Bahamas cruise with my sister Allie onboard Celebrity Silhouette whereas my mom and dad went on an 11-day Panama Canal and Southern Caribbean cruise onboard Celebrity Edge.

Last month, I flew to Miami for a 4-night spring break cruise on Celebrity Silhouette with my sister. We spent more than $2,200 on the entire trip. 

Although I’ve been a fan of Royal Caribbean for almost my entire life, I was ready to try something different. Celebrity Cruises is more adult-focused with a modern, trendy and innovative approach to cruising.

Can you still have fun on an older cruise ship? I put this question to the test when I recently sailed on Celebrity Equinox and Celebrity Edge for a combined total of three weeks. 

The older Celebrity Equinox ship was quite different from the innovative Celebrity Edge, providing two different experiences, and the results of my dueling cruise adventures surprised me. 

On several Celebrity cruise ships, you can find a very unique, animated dining experience called Le Petit Chef. This is a specialty dining restaurant onboard Celebrity’s cruise ships and features an immersive and visual dinner.

Le Petit Chef is not exclusive to Celebrity’s cruise ships; in fact, there are over 35 Le Petit Chef restaurants around the world. Celebrity created a partnership with the restaurant to feature this one-of-a-kind cruise ship dining experience.

Each cruise line aims to offer a unique and unparalleled onboard experience to compete in the cruise industry. Because of this, there are so many cruise lines that can fit the travel styles of almost anyone.

There are things to like and dislike about almost every cruise line. At the end of the day, you have to find the cruise line that not only fits your budget, but also your cruising style and priorities.

Celebrity Cruises' Edge Class of ships has been known to introduce cruise industry firsts. The Magic Carpet, for instance, was the world's first cantilevered floating platform that reaches 13 stories above sea level. By day, it is used as a gangway to help passengers board tender boats, and at night, it is transformed into a dining venue and trendy bar. 

There’s something special about experiencing a new cruise line for the first time. I love seeing how other cruise lines curate a unique onboard cruising experience. Just recently, I was lucky enough to sail on Celebrity Cruises for the first time ever.

I’ve been a longtime loyal cruiser with Royal Caribbean - and I’ve also tried other cruise lines like Carnival Cruise Line and Norwegian Cruise Line. Each cruise line certainly has their own approach to cruising, which is how each brand differentiates itself in the cruise industry.

As someone who loves to cruise, I am always excited to try out a new cruise line. In fact, for many years, I’d been wanting to take a cruise with Celebrity Cruises because I’ve enjoyed all of my cruises with sister-brand Royal Caribbean.

Rather than building mega cruise ships, the cruise line seems to focus on building small-to-medium sized vessels relative to other cruise lines. Celebrity’s cruise ships almost parallel boutique hotels rather than mainstream cruise lines.

Pickleball's popularity has sky rocketed throughout the country in recent years. Between August 2021 and August 2022, it is estimated that over 36 million people played pickleball in the United States. If you are worried about missing your favorite lesiure sport while onboard your Celebrity cruise, you have no reason to fret!
