Couple claims their cruise ship left them in Mexico following medical issue

A New Jersey couple sailing on Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas say the cruise ship forced them to stay in Mexico when one of them got sick with a bleeding stomach ulcer.

The ship's medical staff were unable to treat her, so they opted to transfer her to a hospital.

The couple spent more than $3,400 getting home after riding in the back of a cab during a five-hour trip through the country trying to catch a plane to get back home.

Norwegian Cruise Line revamps drink package offerings

Norwegian Cruise Line announced a new name for its popular drink package, along with the addition of a new drink package for guests who enjoy the best kind of liquor.

The Ultimate Beverage Package has been renamed to the Premium Beverage Package, and a new Premium-Plus Package has been added.  The Premium Beverage Package will continue to be offered as a free perk, while the Premium-Plus Package will not.

MSC Bellissima will expand onboard shopping experience

MSC Cruises announced it will expand the shopping experience on MSC Bellissima.  The ship has plans for a Mediterranean-style promenade and the adjustment of the shopping experience to fit different markets. 

Over 8,000 square feet of retail shopping space will be offered across 315-foot-long promenade on the new ship.

Princess Cruises plans to roll out "the Best Wi-Fi at sea" to six ship in 2019

Princess Cruises says it will launch MedallionNet, which it promises will be the best Wi-Fi at sea, to more than half of its fleet.

Princess will continue its swift expansion of MedallionNet to add the service on additional ships by the end of 2019. MedallionNet expands to Coral Princess and Island Princess in time for the Alaska season, Crown Princess and Emerald Princess for sailings during this summer to Europe and on Golden Princess and Sky Princess this fall. MedallionNet is currently available on Caribbean Princess, Regal Princess, Royal Princess and Ruby Princess.

Norwegian Cruise Line will debut new Cruise Freedom on Norwegian Encore

During an earnings call with investors, Norwegian Cruise Line announced its new Cruise Freedom technology initiative will debut on Norwegian Encore later this year.

Norwegian indicated Cruise Freedom will include wearables, along with the new Cruise Norwegian app.
