Norwegian Cruise Line offered some officials in Juneau, Alaska a free cruise offer but they have been turned down.
KTOO Public Media in Juneau reports the cruise line invited leaders from port communities along the West Coast for the Norwegian Joy's first U.S. voyage next month, but it was turned down.
Some Assembly members questioned the company’s motives before the Assembly voted to decline the invitation at their Monday meeting.
Juneau rules restrict officials from accepting gifts of $50 or more.
