Canceling a magical Disney vacation isn't ideal, but sometimes plans change. Whether due to unexpected medical emergencies, scheduling conflicts, or a change of heart, you must understand the Disney cruise cancellation policy to make informed booking decisions and avoid unnecessary fees.
Disney Cruise Line's cancellation policy varies depending on the stateroom category, the length of the cruise, and how far in advance you cancel. Generally, the closer you are to the sail date, the higher the penalty fees are.
Here’s everything you need to know about Disney’s cancellation policy and final payment deadlines, so you can plan your next cruise with confidence.
Disney cruise cancellation policy
Disney Cruise Line's cancellation policy follows a tiered cancellation schedule, so the closer you cancel to your sail date, the more you’ll owe in penalties. However, it's also based on other factors, including:
- Length of your cruise
- Stateroom category
For example, cruises that are 1 to 5 nights long have different deadlines than sailings that are 6 nights or longer. Guests booked in Concierge cabins are also subject to different terms than those in standard staterooms (interior, ocean-view, and verandah cabins).

For voyages between 1 and 5 nights, you will get a full refund on your cruise if you notify Disney at least 90 days before your sail date:
- 90 days or more: No fee
- 89-45 days: Deposit per guest
- 44-30 days: 50% of the vacation price per guest
- 29-15 days: 75% of the vacation price per guest
- 14 days or less: 100% of the vacation price per guest (no refund)

For sailings longer than 6 nights, Disney begins charging for cancellation penalties earlier:
- 120 days or more: No fee
- 119-56 days: Deposit per guest
- 55-30 days: 50% of the vacation price per guest
- 29-15 days: 75% of the vacation price per guest
- 14 days or less: 100% of the vacation price per guest (no refund)

Although the terms are different based on the length of the cruise, guests booked in Concierge cabins have the most flexible cancellation policies, aside from the non-refundable deposit.
For example, whereas passengers in standard staterooms on sailings 6+ nights can cancel without penalty up to 120 days before the sail date, Concierge guests can cancel up to 56 days before, only losing the deposit instead of a percentage of the cruise fare.
Here's a look at Disney's cancellation policy for Concierge guests on sailings between 1 and 5 nights:
- 45 days or more: Deposit per guest
- 44-30 days: 50% of the vacation price per guest
- 29-15 days: 75% of the vacation price per guest
- 14 days or less: 100% of the vacation price per guest (no refund)

Finally, below are the cancellation terms for Disney cruise guests in Concierge cabins on sailings 6 nights or longer:
- 56 days or more: Deposit per guest
- 55-30 days: 50% of the vacation price per guest
- 29-15 days: 75% of the vacation price per guest
- 14 days or less: 100% of the vacation price per guest (no refund)
How to cancel a Disney cruise

There are a few ways to cancel a Disney cruise. The easiest is to log into your MyDisney account via My Reservations. From there, select "Modify Reservation," which will open up a page allowing you to change your sail date, edit your travel party, modify your cabin, or cancel your reservation.
Alternatively, you can contact Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532. This is recommended for guests with reservations that have been paid in full, made with a Future Cruise Credit, booked under a restrictive rate, or those in a Concierge stateroom.
The Disney Cruise Line representative can also walk you through the cancellation terms and conditions, making sure that you're fully aware of the penalties, refund timeline, and future rebooking options.

If you booked through a travel agent, you'll have to reach out to them for assistance. They can also walk you through the cancellation process and what penalties will apply based on your sail date and stateroom.
Disney cruise final payment date

The final payment date depends on your cruise length.
For guests booked in standard cabins on cruises lasting between 1 and 5 days, the final payment is due 90 days before the sailing date. It increases to 120 days in advance for cruises 6 nights and longer.
Prior to September 2024, those in Concierge staterooms had different final payment schedules. However, Disney has since updated its policies to align with standard staterooms, effectively shortening the final payment date from 120 and 150 days, respectively.
