Beginning today, May 6th 2022, Royal Caribbean International announced its search for the godmother of the world’s largest cruise ship, the Wonder of the Seas, has begun. TikTok users within the United States can now nominate mothers using the hashtag, #SearchForWonderMom.
“The role of a Godmother is an important and longstanding maritime tradition, and it began with naming predominate public figures to now recognizing everyday heroes like moms. With a combination of brand-new adventures and signature favorites across entertainment, thrills, dining and nightlife, Wonder of the Seas is designed to inspire wonder and awe in children and travelers of all ages. Moms do just that and more day in and day out,” said president and CEO of Royal Caribbean International, Michael Bayley.
Royal Caribbean stated in a press release, “U.S. users of the popular video-sharing platform can now take part in the #SearchForWonderMom contest by nominating a mom who inspires those around them to discover, wonder and make memories.”
Submissions will open on May 16th 2022 at 11:59 p.m. ET, and the winner is scheduled to be announced on Royal Caribbean’s TikTok account later this summer season.
The mom who is chosen will have the honor of attending the Wonder of the Seas naming ceremony, in Port Canaveral, Florida in December of this year, as well as bestowing a blessing of safekeeping on the new ship, its crew, and all of the guests who will sail on Wonder of the Seas for years to come.
The chosen mother being honored by Royal Caribbean will be given the opportunity to sail on an exclusive cruise to Royal Caribbean International’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, Bahamas.
The honoree and their family will get to experience a 7-night Caribbean sailing onboard Wonder of the Seas, and will be staying in the Ultimate Family Suite. The family will additionally be given fist-class flights to Port Canaveral, and three nights in a five-star hotel before the cruise sailing begins, as well as up to $1000 in spending money.
The contest will additionally have four finalists, who will get to experience a 7-night cruise aboard Wonder of the Seas, and stay in a balcony stateroom with up to four guests.
Those who wish to enter the contest, must follow the following guidelines:
- Users must follow @RoyalCaribbean on TikTok
- Submissions must be posted on TikTok and share why their nominee would be the ideal Godmother for the world’s largest cruise ship.
- Uploaded videos must use Royal Caribbean’s original #SearchForWonderMom contest audio track pinned on the cruise line’s profile.
- Entries must tag @RoyalCaribbean and include #SearchForWonderMom and #Contest
The Wonder of the Seas will be spending the summer cruise season in the Mediterranean, and will make its return to the United States beginning in November of this year.
While stateside in November, Wonder of the Seas will be setting sail on 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries. These itineraries will include stops such as Perfect Day at CocoCay, St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Mexico, and Honduras.
