15 things Carnival veterans always do (and you should too)

Carnival Cruise Line is beloved by many cruisers across the world, but especially in North America. With more homeports than any other mainstream cruise line, a Carnival cruise ship is never too far away!

5 things I liked better about Princess than Carnival, after my first Princess cruise

Though I've been on over 20 cruises, it wasn't until recently I stepped foot on a Princess ship.

Growing up, my family primarily sailed with Royal Caribbean, but within the past year, I've branched out to Carnival to learn why they have the most "FUN" ships at sea. Seeking a more upscale experience, I decided to give Princess a try, embarking on Sun Princess upon her arrival in Fort Lauderdale.

Why book a windowless inside cabin on a cruise ship

If you want to stretch your vacation budget as far as possible, you may have interior cruise ship cabins on your radar. These windowless rooms offer significant savings compared to oceanview and balcony cabins.

Though you'll miss out on scenic views from the comfort of your room, inside cabins provide the same essential amenities as other standard rooms, including comfortable beds, ensuite bathrooms, and more. Plus, many cruisers prefer enjoying the ship's amenities and ports of call, rather than staying locked away in their stateroom.

I sailed in a 200-square-foot room on Princess Cruises' newest ship. Take a look inside my cabin

I recently sailed on Princess’ newest cruise ship in a luxurious balcony cabin. Even though it was a short 3-night cruise, I was grateful not to be stuck in a tiny, windowless inside stateroom and appreciated taking in the ocean views from my personal verandah.

Sun Princess launched in February 2024 and spent the first part of her inaugural season in Europe. Now, she’s traveled across the Atlantic Ocean for a stint in the Caribbean.

I tried Carnival's Conquest class for the first time. Here's what impressed and disappointed me the most

As one of the most popular cruise lines in the industry, Carnival Cruise Line operates a large fleet of 27 ships across eight different classes of vessels. Unlike other cruise lines, Carnival’s fleet has minor differences between its ship classes in terms of size and design.

I cruised on one of Celebrity's newest ships at sea. I enjoyed the food but missed Royal's entertainment

I recently sailed on Celebrity Beyond for the President’s Cruise, and while I am a loyal Royal Caribbean cruiser, I will certainly return to Celebrity without hesitation. Celebrity Cruises is a hidden gem among the Royal Caribbean brand.

Celebrity Cruises provides a more modern and elevated cruise experience. You won’t find a FlowRider or zip-line onboard their ships, but you will find amazing cuisine, stunning entertainment, and a world-class crew.

Best hurricane lessons after Hurricane Milton, according to cruise experts

Earlier this month, Hurricane Milton became the second-most intense Atlantic hurricane recorded over the Gulf of Mexico. The massive storm impacted many cruise ships, ranging from revised itineraries to delayed departures and canceled sailings.

At peak intensity, Milton was the fifth-most intense Atlantic hurricane on record. The hurricane made landfall on Florida's west coast, with preliminary damage estimates placing the total cost of destruction at over $30 billion.

I ate at 6 specialty restaurants on Princess’ newest ship. Here’s how they rank

During my recent cruise on Princess Cruises' newest and largest ship, I ventured from the included dining options in favor of their specialty restaurants to elevate my culinary experience.

While you'll get the most bang for your buck by sticking with complimentary restaurants on cruise ships, specialty restaurants are known for offering higher-quality cuisine in intimate environments.

I work remotely from a cruise ship all the time, and a lot more people are doing the same thing

I'm no stranger to remote work, having worked as an Accounts Payable Clerk from my studio apartment in New York City while pursuing my Master's degree. Now, as a full-time writer, I enjoy the flexibility to work from anywhere that has Wi-Fi. My favorite place, though, is a cruise ship.

I'm not alone, either. While most guests onboard are there to relax and enjoy their vacation, other remote workers choose to make cruise ships their floating office, and some vessels are even being outfitted with dedicated work-from-home spaces.
