Carnival Cruise Line and Norwegian Cruise Line are two of the most popular cruise lines in the industry. Both companies operate a large fleet of cruise ships that appeal to a wide demographic of travelers.

One Norwegian cruise ship is quarantined off the coast of Africa as the vessel is currently being tested for a potential outbreak of cholera, which is a bacterial disease typically caused by contaminated water.

TikToker Dillion Wareham (@dillionwareham) couldn't go six days without his Chipotle fix while sailing onboard Norweigan Breakaway. On his account, he chronicled, throughout eight videos, his experience sneaking (and then eating) Chipotle while on the ship. 

Last year I had the privilege to sail on Norwegian Encore and the Disney Fantasy. Both these ships are similar because they are relatively new vessels in their fleet; however, they aren't the newest ships built by Norwegian Cruise Line and Disney Cruise Line. 

Last month, I took a bucket-list cruise through Africa with Norwegian Cruise Line onboard Norwegian Dawn. While this cruise ship was one of the oldest in the cruise line’s fleet at 22-years-old, the unique itinerary was one that I couldn’t resist.

Even better, the cruise fare was extremely affordable compared to other African cruise options. The 12-night itinerary on Norwegian Dawn featured ports of call throughout Africa, including Mauritius, Madagascar, and South Africa.

One TikTok user has taken to social media to slam Norwegian Cruise Line for altering their bucket-list itinerary to Antarctica with little to no explanation. The revised itinerary would no longer be visiting Antarctica at all, according to the viral TikTok.

In 2023, I was able to sail on five different Norwegian Cruise Line ships, and it was an amazing year filled with many awesome cruise memories and opportunities to gain insight and knowledge about NCL. 

Each of the cruises I went on was quite different, and I had so much fun getting to see many different aspects of this big-name cruise line and everything it has to offer for travelers. 

I recently cruised in one of the cheapest cabins available onboard Norwegian Dawn, which is one of Norwegian Cruise Line’s oldest ships. Norwegian Dawn was launched in 2002, making the ship nearly 22 years old. Norwegian Cruise Line has provided this older ship with plenty of upgrades, with a multi-million dollar refurbishment in 2016 and dry dock refresh as recent as 2021.

Last October, I was able to embark on a dream cruise around the United Kingdom onboard one of Norwegian Cruise Line’s oldest ships, Norwegian Star. 

This voyage quickly became one of my favorite cruises, and it was largely due to the great itinerary and awesome ship.
