Princess Cruises cancels all Australia cruises until May 2021

Unfortunately the cruise shutdown will last well into 2021 for at least one cruise line operating in Australia.

Princess Cruises announced it has extended its "pause of operations" for cruises departing from Australia and New Zealand through May 31, 2021.

Guests who had cruises booked and are now cancelled have the choice of a refund or a future cruise credit.

Princess Cruises announced plans to move two of its Grand Class cruise ships to P&O Cruises Australia have been expedited, and the transition will occur earlier than expected.

The two ships, Golden Princess and Star Princess, was set to occur in 2021, but instead took place already.

The Golden Princess had already been retired from Princess Cruises' fleet, but Star Princess still had scheduled sailings into 2021.

Princess Cruises has sold two of its cruise ships

Princess Cruises confirmed it has sold two of its cruise ships to undisclosed buyers.

The premium cruise line announced the Sun Princess and Sea Princess will leave the Princess Cruises Fleet, and is part of Carnival Corporation's overall effort to shed "less efficient ships from its fleet."

Princess Cruises cancels almost all of its cruises in 2020 due to COVID-19

Princess Cruises announced that it has cancelled most of its remaining cruises in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

All Princess Cruises sailings in Asia, Caribbean, California Coast, Hawaii, Mexico, Panama Canal, South America & Antarctica, Japan, and Tahiti/South Pacific through December 15, 2020 are now cancelled.

They also cancelled their sailings in and out of Australia on Majestic Princess, Regal Princess, Sapphire Princess, Sea Princess, and Sun Princess through October 31, 2020.

Princess Cruises cancels more cruises due to Canada and Australia bans

Princess Cruises announced more cruises will be cancelled on six of its cruise ships due to the expanding cruise bans from Canada and Australia.

Princess Cruises cancelled the Aug. 29 to Sept. 1 sailings that depart and return to Australia:

  • Sea Princess
  • Majestic Princess
  • Sun Princess 
  • Sapphire Princess

In addition, Princess Cruises vessels that visited Seattle or Vancouver, BC, in September or October are cancelled. This includes:
