A Princess Cruises representative has informed Travel Agent that a recent fire on the cruise line's private island will not have any impact on scheduled visits.
The first Princess Cruises ship to visit Princess Cays is scheduled to take place on February 4.
A fire last week at Princess Cays caused damage to the island, but the cruise line announced no guest-facing facilities were impacted. Moreover, all guest facilities have been inspected, and reported safe and operational. In the staff-only operations areas, work is already underway to restore the affected buildings and equipment.
There were no guests at Princess Cays at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
