Silversea Cruises announced on Wednesday it will not restart cruises until mid-2021.
The luxury cruise brand released new start dates for each of its cruise ships, with restart dates ranging between April, May and June 2021.
- Silver Cloud: May 5, 2021
- Silver Wind: June 14, 2021
- Silver Shadow: April 28, 2021
- Silver Spirit: April 20, 2021
- Silver Muse: May 20, 2021
- Silver Whisper: June 20, 2021
- Silver Explorer: June 24, 2021
- Silver Moon: April 1, 2021
- Silver Dawn: November 9, 2021
- Silver Origin: February 6, 2021
Silversea warned that these dates are tentative and the situation is constantly changing.
The cruise line has adopted a rolling cancellation strategy:
Silversea is currently proceeding with a ‘rolling’ cancellation system, in which we are cancelling cruises only when we know that we are unable to operate them. We are therefore avoiding having to cancel cruises that have the possibility of operating. We are doing our utmost to take the best decisions during this very uncertain time and we will keep updating this page with the latest information.
With today's announcement, Silversea leads the industry with a restart date about as far out as any line has announced. Moreover, it confirms the line will go at least one year without any cruises.
