New Virgin Voyages ship finishes sea trials

Resilient Lady

Virgin Voyages’ newest ship to their fleet, the Resilient Lady, has successfully completed all of its sea trials.

Now that the Resilient Lady has undergone and completed all of its sea trials successfully, the ship has returned to Fincantieri’s Sestri shipyard in Genoa Italy. Having completed all of its necessary sea trials, Virgin Voyages’ newest ship is one step closer to its debut.

“We’re continuing to work closely with the Fincantieri team to get Resilient Lady ready before her debut in August out of Athens. Together, out marine teams are testing her safety systems, automation, power generation and propulsion systems,” said Virgin Voyages regarding its newest ship.

The Resilient Lady is Virgin Voyages’ third ship to its line, following the Scarlet Lady and the Valiant Lady. Both of these previous ships in Virgin Voyages have debuted within the last year, with Scarlet Lady sailing for the first time in 2021, and Valiant Lady setting sail for the first time last month in March 2022.

Virgin Voyages’ Scarlet Lady currently operates four and five-night sailings from Port Miami. All of its sailings currently include a stop at Bimini Bahamas. A highlight of this stop is Virgin Voyages’ Beach Club at Bimini.

Since its debut last month in Europe, Valiant Lady has been operating three-night sailings from Portsmouth England. During the summer season of this year, the ship will be operating a seven-night Mediterranean voyage. Starting in October 2022, the Valiant Lady will begin Caribbean sailings for the remainder of the year.

Virgin Voyages’ newest ship, Resilient Lady, is set to make its debut in August 2022 in Athens (Piraeus) Greece. In a statement from Virgin Voyages, “after a year of adversity and adaptation, it's only fitting that we name our third ship, Resilient Lady. While the proverbial seas may have been rough, we’ve never been more excited to set sail from our new homeport of Piraeus (Athens), Greece - seeing the world with fresh and appreciative eyes.”

Resilient Lady will begin by launching seven-night voyages from Athens that will stop in ports such as Santorini, Rhodes, Chania (Souda Bay), Mykonos, Dubrovnik, Kotor, and Corfu. “Her new seven-night itineraries, which include island-hopping in the Adriatic, late-nights in Croatia, and an overnight in Mykonos. Our Adriatic Sea & Greek Gems itinerary heads to Dubrovnik, Croatia (with a late-night stay), Kotor, Montenegro, and then onto the breathtaking Greek isles of Corfu and Argostoli,” says Virgin Voyages about their newest itineraries.
