Carnival Cruise WiFi: Pricing, Plans, & More (2026)

CCL_NY_2737_Carnival_Cruise_Lifestyle

Although vacation is a great time to disconnect, staying in touch with friends and family on a Carnival cruise is easy.

There are three Carnival cruise WiFi packages, all suited for different needs and budgets, and the key to a great internet experience at sea is to buy the right one. For example, the Social Plan will disappoint cruisers who want to stream movies or video chat.

Here's a closer look at what each Carnival WiFi package offers, so you can purchase the best one for your upcoming vacation.

How does WiFi work on Carnival cruise ships?

App

You can either purchase an internet package before your cruise or once you are onboard.

To buy it ahead of time, go to Carnival's Cruise Manager website and select your preferred package (Social, Value, or Premium). If you wait until you are on the ship, you can purchase a WiFi plan through the HUB app.

The HUB app is also where you can connect to the internet. Navigate to the "Internet Packages" tab, turn your phone on airplane mode, and follow the on-screen instructions to log in and start browsing.

You do not have to buy WiFi to use the HUB's app features. Even without a Carnival internet package, you can access the daily schedule, browse shore excursions, keep tabs on your onboard spending account, and manage dining or activity reservations.

Unfortunately, Carnival does not allow guests to chat for free through the HUB app. To activate this feature, everyone who wants the chat feature enabled must pay a one-time $5 fee.

What are the different Carnival cruise WiFi package options?

The cheapest Carnival WiFi package is the Social Plan. It's ideal for messaging, social media, and light web browsing. However, as the lowest-tiered plan, it is the most restrictive.

For example, it only allows access to the most popular social websites and applications, including Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, Pinterest, X, TikTok, LinkedIn, Reddit, and major airline sites.

Other websites and email services are excluded from Carnival's Social Plan, as are video and music streaming applications (i.e., Spotify, Hulu, FaceTime, and Netflix).

Moving on, the Value WiFi Plan is perfect for cruisers who want a balance between speed and cost.

It includes access to all sites included with the Social Plan, but with stronger and faster connection speeds.

Note that, like the Social Plan, it does not include video streaming or cellular-network-dependent Wi-Fi calling.

Finally, Carnival's Premium WiFi Plan is the fastest option and is designed for heavy internet users.

Guests can access the same sites as the Social and Value Plans, but at speeds up to three times faster. This means you will have less buffer time.

Plus, it supports video and movie streaming, as well as video chatting, through apps like FaceTime, Zoom, Spotify, Hulu, and Netflix. Ring notifications and video feeds can also be accessed in real time to monitor your home (where coverage allows).

Carnival also offers a multi-device package, which is ideal for families. It allows up to four devices to connect to Carnival's Premium WiFi at once, rather than having to log off one device and switch to another.

The cruise line offers an even greater discount to those who reserve the multi-device package ahead of time, giving guests 25% off the onboard price.

Carnival Multi-Device Premium WiFi Plan Cost (2026)

  • Pre-Cruise: $84.00 per day (up to 4 devices)
  • Onboard: $112.00 per day (up to 4 devices)

Although Carnival's WiFi packages don't work ashore at Half Moon Cay, they do work at Celebration Key in The Bahamas.

Can you share internet plans on Carnival cruise ships?

Yes! You can log in and out of the WiFi package to switch between devices. However, only one device can actively use the internet at any given time.

Is Carnival WiFi worth it?

I've bought Carnival's Premium WiFi Plan on all my sailings, ranging from older ships like Carnival Elation to new Excel Class vessels, and never had any major issues with speed or connectivity.

I have also used Carnival's WiFi to work remotely in The Bahamas, Caribbean, and even Alaska, staying up-to-date on my assignments, writing timely news articles, and attending meetings via Slack in my cruise cabin.

However, whether Carnival's WiFi is worth it or not depends on how you expect to travel. If you want to stay connected with high internet speeds, stream movies during your downtime, and listen to music on Spotify, then the Premium Plan will be worth the extra cost.

If your primary goal is to send a few text messages to friends and family back home, then the Social Plan may be sufficient to meet your needs — and save you a few dollars.

Either way, I'd recommend deciding before your cruise, so you can purchase your WiFi plan in advance and save up to 25% off the onboard price.
