A 44-year-old woman who allegedly punched a teen girl on a Carnival cruise ship surrendered to Miami authorities to face charges, reports say.

Jennifer A. Frost, of Collins, Iowa, was taken into custody on Monday and booked at Miami-Dade's Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on an aggravated battery charge, NBC 6 reported.

According to the arrest report, the 17-year-old victim, who remains unnamed, said she was on a family vacation on the Carnival Sunrise ship in the Lido buffet restaurant when she claimed that Frost tried to insert herself into her conversation.

Frost appeared intoxicated and laughed as though she were part of the group. The teen initially tried to ignore Frost, who eventually walked away, claiming that she felt "very uncomfortable." However, after getting ice cream, she was suddenly confronted by Frost, who lunged forward and punched her in the face. The victim suffered a nosebleed and intense pain following the violent altercation.

Although Frost fled the scene, witnesses followed her and contacted the ship's security team, who then detained her. Body cameras captured the moments of her detention and her behavior as she admitted to punching the teen in the face and expressed satisfaction with her actions. Authorities said the ship's surveillance video also captured the attack in the buffet, Local 10 News reported.

The 101,509 gross-ton ship returned to Miami, Florida, two days later, and Frost debarked before contacting law enforcement agents.

Recently, however, Frost surrendered with her attorney and was booked into a Miami-Dade jail. She appeared before a judge for a bond court hearing on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, where a prosecutor said the victim suffered a broken nose. Her bond was set at $2,500.

It is unclear whether Frost was traveling with others or was a solo cruiser.

The 2,984-passenger ship departed PortMiami on March 16 on a five-night Western Caribbean cruise to Jamaica and Grand Cayman, according to Cruise Watch

The altercation happened about halfway through the sailing on March 19, just two days before the vessel was scheduled to return to South Florida.

Thankfully, the incident neither affected the ship's itinerary nor delayed debarkation.

Before sailing as Carnival Sunrise, the ship operated for around two decades as Carnival Triumph, an infamous name many recognize from the 2012 "poop cruise" incident.

In 2019, the vessel underwent a $200 million renovation and was renamed Carnival Sunrise.
