Propulsion

Holland America Line's Zaandam will depart from Vancouver, Canada, later than planned due to propulsion issues requiring urgent repairs.

Guests aboard the June 10 voyage to Alaska were given the unfortunate news that their departure would be delayed by one day because of a propulsion issue that's forcing the 26-year-old ship to sail at slower-than-normal speeds.

The email also states that, due to the delayed departure, the original itinerary won't proceed as planned. Passengers were given an updated itinerary after boarding on June 10, reflecting adjustments to the voyage schedule and ports of call.

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is under fire for making a major itinerary change that left some passengers frustrated and questioning what they signed up for.

Technically, cruise lines have the right to tweak your itinerary, sometimes years ahead of sailing. Sometimes, they'll swap ports or simply adjust the hours in port.

Recently, a passenger posted online about a significant itinerary change that altered several of the cruise's planned destinations and its embarkation port, sparking discussion among fellow travelers.

Is Disney Cruise Line's thermal spa worth it? The pricey upgrade might not be for everyone

DCL Thermal

Guests sailing aboard a Disney Cruise Line shouldn't overlook the thermal suite. With heated lounge chairs, a sauna, private outdoor sun deck, and more, it offers a relaxing, adult-only escape from the kid-friendly activities and amenities.

Elizabeth spent time in the Rainforest Room while aboard the Disney Destiny ship and was surprised by how much she enjoyed it. Although it isn't included in Disney Cruise Line's standard cruise fare, the Senses Spa refuge can be easily justified, but it isn't for everyone.

Here's what she thought of Disney Cruise Line's Rainforest Room, and why, despite its price tag, it's a must-have for her on future voyages with the Mouse and his pals.
