Star Wars Day at Sea to return to Disney Cruise Line in 2021

Disney Cruise Line announced its popular Star Wars Day at Sea in 2021.

This special day-long celebration is filled with unique character encounters, unforgettable live shows and Star Wars-themed activities for the entire family. Star Wars Day at Sea takes place on seven-night Disney Fantasy cruises to the Caribbean from January through March.

Star Wars Day at Sea will be offered on nine Disney Fantasy seven-night Caribbean cruises sailing from Port Canaveral, Florida.

Disney Cruise Line signs long-term agreement to put new ships at Port Canaveral

Disney Cruise Line and The Canaveral Port Authority agreed on a new 20-year agreement that will expand operations and make Port Canaveral home for two of Disney’s three new ships.

The new pact provides a 20-year primary term with two additional five-year renewals. Initially, the call guarantee remains at 150 calls, but increases to 180 calls in 2023 and up to 216 calls in 2024 through the remainder of the 20-year term. It will go into effect on June 1 and replaces an existing marine terminal agreement that was set to expire December 31, 2027.

Disney Cruise Line raises gratuities

Effective January 19, 2019, Disney Cruise Line will raise its recommended gratuity guidelines. The new recommended gratuity rate is $13.50 per passenger/per day based.

“The recommended increase is $0.50 per passenger/per day for the Dining Room Service Team and Stateroom Host/Hostess. The total recommended gratuity is $13.50 per passenger/per day based. Total gratuity is based on the length of the cruise.”

The exact timing of when the change goes into effect depends on the exact sailing and ship.
