More than one year into the cruise industry's voluntary suspension of North American operations, passengers are curious when they might begin to see Norwegian Cruise Line's ships sailing again.

Is there hope for an Alaska cruise season this year?

During Norwegian Cruise Line Holding (NCLH)'s four quarter, NCL President and CEO Frank Del Rio thinks there is positive momentum to salvage at least part of the Alaska cruise season.

On February 4, the Canadian Minister of Transport issued a new Interim Order banning cruise ships in all waters until February 28, 2022. 

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) has cancelled all of its May 2021 cruises.

The cruise line announced it needs more time and will extend the global suspension of sailings through May 31, 2021 for the Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises brands.

NCLH is the first cruise line between Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line to cancel May cruises so far.

Norwegian Cruise Line will give its guests more time to change its mind about cancelling a cruise.

NCL said it has extended its Peace of Mind policy that allows guests to cancel their cruise without a penalty.

For new and existing bookings made by March 31, 2021, for any voyage with an embarkation date through and including October 31, 2021, guests are free to cancel anytime up to 15 days in advance of embarkation. This policy applies to individual and group bookings.

All the crew members on Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) and Regent Seven Seas cruise lines will have its crew members vaccinated for COVID-19.

While the decision to require guests to be vaccinated continues, crew members will be completely vaccinated.

A spokesperson for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. confirmed that the policy change.

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) announced it has cancelled its April 2021 cruises.

The cruise brands, Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, will now not be able to sail through April 30, 2021.

The rationale for the new batch of cancelled cruises is more time needed to prepare for sailings to restart, "the Company continues to work through its return to service plan to meet the requirements of the Framework for Conditional Sailing Order issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”)."

Any chance of cruises restarting in March for NCL has ended as of today.

Norwegian Cruise Line announced on Tuesday it has decided to push back the restart of the only cruise ships that were still scheduled to sail in March 2021.

Norwegian Encore, Norwegian Escape, and Norwegian Joy sailings have been suspended through and including March 31, 2021. 

All other NCL sailings in March were previously suspended.

Norwegian Cruise Line announced on Tuesday it would extend its cruise cancellations an additional two months to include all of February 2021, including some ships as far out as March.

NCL has cancelled all of its cruises through February, as well as cruises in March 2021 for the following ships:

NCLH, which also owns Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises, made the announcement a few days after the U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) opened the door for cruises to conditionally restart.
