During its first quarter earnings call with investors, Royal Caribbean announced Oasis of the Seas will return to service for its scheduled May 5th sailing.
Oasis of the Seas has been out of service since April 1, when a construction crane accidentally fell and struck the ship.
The accident took place while the ship was undergoing maintenance at the Grand Bahama Shipyard. While in drydock, two construction cranes collapsed on the stern of the ship, causing extensive damage, the cruise line said. Oasis of the Seas then had to go to a dock in Europe for repairs, causing it to be taken out of service for almost a month.
Royal Caribbean's executives announced that the ship is expected to return to service in time for its normally scheduled May 5 sailing.
