Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, Disney's second private destination, has officially welcomed guests for the first time. Disney Magic, Disney Cruise Line's first ship, called on the exclusive destination on June 7.
Located on the island of Eleuthera, Lookout Cay differs from Castaway Cay in that it isn't a private island; however, all of the destination's offerings are only available to DCL guests.
Beci Mahnken, President & CEO of MEI-Travel, was invited on a 3-night preview sailing that departed from Fort Lauderdale, Florida on June 6 and shared images from her visit, showing the beauty and Disney magic of the new private destination.
In addition to Lookout Cay, Disney Magic will sail to Nassau before returning to Florida and beginning regular 3- to 5-night cruises before relocating to Galveston in November.
Disney Cruise Line purchased the 700-acre area in 2019, with construction beginning in 2022.
They announced the name of the destination in September 2023.
Lookout Cay doesn't have a pier. However, because of the coral reefs closer to shore, guests must walk over a lengthy bridge to reach the amenities, which include beautiful stretches of white sand beaches, luxurious cabanas, shopping, and more.
A complimentary tram is offered for those with mobility issues only. The walk from the pier to the tram stop takes 10-15 minutes depending on your speed.
Disney Cruise Line is known for its exclusive merchandise, and there's no shortage of unique items to choose from ashore.
Whether you're looking for a Disney-inspired shovel, Lookout Cay spirit jersey, or souvenirs made by local artisans, there's something worth purchasing.
Located near the primary shopping area is the bike rental kiosk.
Rush Out Gush Out is the water play area where kids can keep cool by racing down the water slide or enjoying the various splash features.
When it comes to the beaches, there's no shortage of complimentary lounge chairs and umbrellas.
Families looking for the ultimate day ashore can splurge on one of the cabanas.
They aren't cheap, with the Grand Family Cabana costing $1,375 for up to ten guests. At around $960 for six guests, the Family Beach Cabanas are more affordable for those with a smaller travel party.
Cabanas feature plenty of plush seating, as well as an outdoor table for al fresco dining.
There's also a built-in touchscreen, allowing guests to place a food/drink order and control the music. Why leave the cabana if you don't have to?
Those with mobility issues will appreciate the accessible cabana.
Lookout Cay has adult-only cabanas located within the Serenity Beach area for those traveling without children, too.
Those who would rather stick with the complimentary amenities should plan on stopping by the Goombay Cultural Center. Not only can you learn about the famous Junkanoo celebration, but families can make crafts to take home!
As true to the Disney theme parks and ships, there are plenty of opportunities to meet your favorite characters, all of which will sport Lookout Cay-exclusive apparel!
There are exclusive drinks, too, including the Eleuthera Euphoria and Butterfly Switcha. Guests may also fuel up with specialty coffee beverages or enjoy local Bahamian beers.
While there are non-alcoholic mocktails for children to enjoy, nothing hits the spot quite like a complimentary ice cream cone!
Adults spending the day at Serenity Bay won't have to travel far for food and drinks, as there's a BBQ outpost located within the adult-only area.
