Carnival introduces its first non-alcoholic drink package

After months of disappointing changes and updates, Carnival Cruise Line finally caved and announced a new non-alcoholic drink package for guests. 

In the past, Carnival only offered two drink packages: CHEERS! and Bottomless Bubbles. Although Bottomless Bubbles technically is a non-alcoholic option, it's limited to soda and juices. If cruisers wanted a mocktail or energy drink, they'd have to purchase it individually. 

With the launch of CHEERS! Zero Proof passengers can now enjoy a wider variety of non-alcoholic beverages for a set price.

Carnival's new drink package starts at $29.99 per day and includes unlimited sodas (Coca-Cola products), juices, still & sparkling bottled water, coconut water, premium coffees and teas, zero-proof cocktails, alcohol-free beer and sparkling wine, non-alcoholic frozen drinks, smoothies, bottled protein shakes, milkshakes, and energy drinks. 

Unfortunately, like Carnival's existing drink packages, it can't be used ashore at Half Moon Cay and Celebration Key, Carnival's new private destination in The Bahamas. 

Still, CHEERS! Zero Proof is a big step forward for cruisers who want a more inclusive beverage experience, whether they're under the legal drinking age or can't justify the price of the alcoholic package.

"It’s a perfect fit for guests interested in an alternative to our traditional CHEERS! package with additional variety compared to our Bottomless Bubbles soda package."

The new CHEERS! Zero Proof can be pre-booked on Carnival's online cruise planner, as well as onboard for $34.99 per day.

Carnival fans are happy with the new drink package, and many cruisers have taken to social media to share their excitement. 

"Great deal if you are not drinking," commented one person on Carnival Brand Ambassador John Heald's Facebook. 

Another added, "We are so excited about the zero alcohol Cheers! We don't drink but LOVE our mocktails and other drinks so [we] will be considering this on the 3 cruises coming up."
