If you're planning a Carnival cruise in 2026, you’ll want to understand the changes and additions the cruise line is making.

Although cruisers should not expect a brand-new ship in 2026 (Carnival Festivale isn't scheduled to enter service until 2027), Carnival is making some changes that will impact the overall guest experience — for better or worse.

From overhauling the cruise line's loyalty program to rebranding its private island, here are 7 big changes you can expect to take place across Carnival's fleet in 2026.

Man goes overboard on Norwegian Cruise Line ship headed for Miami; search called off

A cruise passenger went overboard from a Norwegian Cruise Line vessel, NCL confirmed.

Norwegian Jewel departed from Barcelona, Spain, on October 15, 2025. The 12-night transatlantic cruise is slated to conclude in Miami, Florida, on Oct. 27. 

However, about halfway through the voyage on Oct. 21, guests were awoken around 2:00 a.m. to the secret "man overboard" code word being blasted into their cabins via the public address system.

Nearly 80 cruise guests, crew sick in 15th norovirus outbreak this year

Nearly 80 people got sick in a norovirus outbreak on a recent cruise.

75 of the Oceania Insignia ship’s 1,028 guests and crew reported being sick during its current 11-night cruise, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This breaks down to roughly 11% of the people on board.

The CDC added that the predominant symptoms were diarrhea and vomiting

Girl who went overboard from Disney cruise ship did not fall, cops say

Earlier this year, one father was deemed a hero when he jumped into the ocean to save his 5-year-old daughter, who fell 50 feet from the Disney Dream cruise ship into the sea. 

It turns out that the entire situation stemmed from the mother posing her daughter in front of an open porthole for a picture. 

According to a new police report, which was viewed by The New York Post, the young girl lost her balance while standing in front of the porthole.

No, Carnival won't offer adult-only cruises

Carnival's series of adult-only cruises has been a hit. Unfortunately, cruisers shouldn't expect a shift in the cruise line's target demographic.

John Heald, Carnival's Brand Ambassador, confirmed via Facebook that the cruise line's target audience will always be families. 

Still, Carnival has clearly picked up on the popularity of its limited series of adult-only sailings.
