Carnival Cruise Line tests new cruise ship roller coaster

Carnival Cruise Line has released a new video of a test of its new roller coaster concept that will be added to a cruise ship soon.

Known as the BOLT, the new roller coaster will debut on the Carnival Mardi Gras in February.

The test was conducted at the roller coaster manufacturer in Munich, Germany. Mauer Rides tested out the new roller coaster, which will offer guests almost 800 feet of suspended track at speeds of up to 40 miles per hour.

Wall Street analyst thinks cruise recovery is many years away

Wall Street analyst Chris Woronka of Deutsche Bank wrote a note that predicts in the long run cruise lines will recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, but it will take many years to accomplish.

Terminal CT3 was toured by Carnival Cruise Line representatives, which will be the home of the Carnival Mardi Gras cruise ship.

Recently declared "substantially complete", the new terminal will be the biggest construction project in the history of Port Canaveral, and cost $163 million.

Carnival Cruise Line signs five-year deal with Norfolk, Virginia

Carnival Cruise Line signed a deal to offer cruises seasonally from the Half Moone Cruise Center in Norfolk, Virginia through 2025.

The agreement was announced between the cruise line and the City of Norfolk at a press conference by Norfolk Mayor Kenneth Alexander who was joined by Carnival’s Senior Vice President of Nautical and Port Operations Terry Thornton.

Carnival Magic will become the largest ship to ever sail from Norfolk when she begins offering 12 sailings from the port in 2021.
