Princess Cruises announces its most robust world cruise for 2021

Princess Cruises announces its 2021 World Cruise itinerary ever with more ports and countries than ever before.

The 111-day sailing will visit 50 destinations in 32 countries, across six continents, including Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, South America and North America.

The 111-day roundtrip voyage from Ft. Lauderdale departs on January 3, 2021, and the 111-day roundtrip cruise from Los Angeles departs January 17, 2021. A 97-day World Cruise from Los Angeles to Ft. Lauderdale is also offered, setting sail on January 17, 2021.

Virgin Voyages announces on-board music experiences including record shop and karaoke lounge

Virgin Voyages announced today its first cruise ship, Scarlet Lady, will feature an onboard record shop, karaoke studio, and artfully selected music.

Due to set sail for its inaugural season in 2020, Scarlet Lady will be equipped with an on ship record shop called Voyage Vinyl, The Groupie, a private karaoke and gaming lounge, and perfectly curated music and performances by up-and-coming artists as well as music trendsetters for Virgin Voyages’ Sailors to enjoy.

Princess Cruises orders two new LNG-powered cruise ships

Princess Cruises announced it has entered into a deal with Fincantieri to build two new 175,000-ton cruise ships.  These will be the largest ships ever built in Italy.

Each ship will have double-occupancy capacity for approximately 4,300 passengers and feature a dual-fuel system, primarily powered by LNG.

The new ships will be delivered in Monfalcone in late 2023 and in spring 2025.

Today's deal follows up on a memorandum of agreement signed in July 2018.

Port of Seattle will offer luggage valet service again in 2019

Port of Seattle Commissioners voted to approve funding for the Port Valet program, which allows cruise passengers to have their bags taken from the ship and transported directly to their airline early, before departing through Sea-Tac International Airport.

Video of Royal Caribbean's next new ship on its way to the sea

The next new Royal Caribbean ship, Spectrum of the Seas, has departed her shipyard to head to the North Sea for her sea trials.

Spectrum, which measures in at 1,139 feet long, made its way on the half-day journey along the Ems River on its eventual way to sea trials in the North Sea.

Man sues Royal Caribbean after falling off trampoline experience

Casey Holladay is suing Royal Caribbean for $20 million after he fell off the SkyPad on Mariner of the Seas.

According to NBC 6, Holladay said he fell off the trampoline/bungee combo during the ride and dropped about 20 feet to the ground. Holladay says he was brought back to Miami, where he underwent multiple surgeries to repair his pelvis and shoulder.

Viking Sky cruise ship evacuated after ship loses power

The Viking Sky cruise ship lost engine power over the weekend, which resulted in all guests needing to be evacuated.

Poor weather made it too dangerous for rescues in lifeboats, so all passengers were airlifted by helicopter and brought to land in Norway. Hundreds had to wait hours for the boat to be towed to shore.

The Viking Ocean Cruises ship was on the end of a 12-day sailing when it ran into high winds and rough waves on Saturday. As the ship began to experience engine problems, the crew issued a mayday call. 

Serenade of the Seas conveyance scheduled

Royal Caribbean's Spectrum of the Seas, is expected to leave Papenburg on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 and be transported on the Ems to Eemshaven (Netherlands). The arrival in Eemshaven is scheduled for Thursday, 21 March. After technical and nautical trials, Spectrum of the Seas arrives later in Bremerhaven.

The Spectrum of the Seas will sail back towards the North Sea and back with the help of two tugs. This type of transfer has proven itself because of its better maneuverability.

Virgin Voyages shows off outdoor areas

Virgin Voyages has posted a new video to show off the outdoor areas on the cruise line's first ship, Scarlet Lady.

The video includes looks at the pool deck and staterooms.

Scarlet Lady will sail 4 and 5 night cruises to the Western Caribbean and Cuba from Miami, Florida.
