11 New Cruise Ships Coming in 2026

NCL Luna Aerial Rendering

Over the past few years, cruise lines have reported record-breaking demand, signifying the popularity of cruise vacations.

Part of the demand is driven by the ongoing innovation across the industry, as cruise lines heavily invest in new ship designs, cutting-edge technology, and exclusive private destinations.

"We continue to see strong momentum across our business, powered by accelerated demand, growing loyalty, and guest satisfaction that is at all-time highs," said Royal Caribbean Group President and CEO Jason Liberty during the company's 2025 Q3 earnings call.

"Our commercial flywheel — combining innovative ships, distinctive destinations, and world-class brands — continues to drive sustained growth and guests' trust in our ability to deliver the best vacation experiences responsibly."

As a whole, the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) estimated that cruise ships will welcome nearly 40 million passengers (39.6 million to be exact) on oceangoing cruises in 2026.

This year, I sailed on four new cruise ships, including MSC World America, Norwegian Aqua, Brilliant Lady, and Celebrity Xcel. Getting to explore each one gave me an incredible look at all the exciting innovations and amenities that are driving the cruise industry's success — and I can't wait to see what's in store for next year!

Speaking of, multiple cruise lines are preparing to introduce their next-in-class ships in 2026. From the first-ever Four Seasons yacht to Disney Cruise Line's largest, most immersive vessel yet, we've rounded up the most anticipated cruise ship launches set to hit the seas next year.

Disney Adventure, Disney Cruise Line: March 2026

Disney Cruise Line's newest ship, Disney Adventure, is slated to enter service in March.

Once officially christened, she will be the largest in the fleet, measuring around 208,000 gross tons (GT) with a passenger capacity of nearly 6,000. In comparison, Disney Destiny comes in at around 144,000 GT and can accommodate roughly 4,000 guests.

Not only will Disney Adventure be the line's largest ship, but she will also be Disney's first ship to be homeported in Asia. Sailing exclusively from Singapore, Disney Adventure will offer short cruises "to nowhere."

This means that, rather than booking a voyage to visit new ports of call, the ship is the primary destination. Don't worry, though — she has more than enough to offer guests. In fact, it might be hard to eat, see, and do everything in just 3 or 4 nights!

Onboard, guests will find seven themed areas inspired by Pixar, Disney, and Marvel characters and films: Toy Story Place, Marvel Landing, Fransokyo Street, Wayfinder Bay, Town Square, Discovery Reef, and Disney Imagination Garden.

Speaking of Marvel Landing, it will be home to Disney's first-ever roller coaster at sea — Ironcycle Test Run — that measures 820 feet long.

In terms of entertainment, Disney is bringing its signature high-quality productions to its newest ship. Guests can enjoy everything from interactive meet-and-greets to Broadway-caliber shows like "Moana: Call of the Sea," "Disney Seas the Adventure," and "Remember."

Prices start at $1,054 for an interior cabin based on double occupancy. At the time of publication, the cheapest sailing was the 3-night cruise departing on Sept. 14, 2026.

Four Seasons I, Four Seasons Yachts: March 2026

Four-Seasons-Yacht-Aerial

Four Seasons' first yacht is expected to hit the high seas in March 2026. The company first announced its plans to expand into the yachting sector in September 2022.

Four Seasons I is a far cry from mega-ships like Disney Adventure, measuring 34,000 GT. With a capacity of just 190 guests across 95 suites, cruisers can expect personalized service thanks to the 1:1 guest-to-staff ratio.

The largest suite comes in at nearly 10,000 square feet. However, all of the yacht's accommodations are designed to have a luxurious residential feel to them, something the cruise line already has extensive expertise in, thanks to the Four Seasons Private Residences.

Onboard, there are 11 restaurants to choose from, ranging from an upscale omakase experience that uses sustainably sourced and locally available ingredients to poolside Mediterranean fare.

While guests shouldn't expect any adrenaline-pumping amenities, they can look forward to the innovative transverse marina, a unique feature that offers effortless, direct access to the sea for swimming, water sports, and relaxation.

Prices start at $17,300 per suite based on double occupancy. At the time of publication, the cheapest sailings were the Jan. 3, Jan. 8, and Jan. 13, 2027, voyages to The Bahamas.

Norwegian Luna, Norwegian Cruise Line: April 2026

Norwegian Cruise Line's second Prima Plus Class ship will join the fleet in April 2026. Guests can look forward to many returning favorites from Norwegian Aqua, the first Prima Plus Class vessel, including innovative dining venues, popular entertainment offerings, and signature amenities.

The Aqua Slidecoaster, for example, will return, offering thrill-seekers a one-of-a-kind waterslide/roller coaster hybrid experience. The Drop, a 10-story trap-door release dry slide; the Glow Court, a multipurpose and immersive sports complex that transforms into a must-visit nightclub; and the interactive Tee Time mini-golf are other standout features that make Norwegian Luna an exciting addition to the fleet.

One of my favorite things about Norwegian Aqua was the plentiful dining options, and I'm excited to see so many options returning to Norwegian Luna.

The Indulge Food Hall was a highlight, offering a diverse array of culinary options ranging from international street foods to freshly made pasta dishes and satisfying plant-based bowls. The best part? Everything is included in your cruise fare.

Sukhothai, a Prima Plus Class exclusive specialty restaurant, serves Thai cuisine at sea with bold flavors in a contemporary setting. Other specialty restaurants include Cagney's Steakhouse, Hasuki Teppanyaki, Los Lobos, Onda by Scarpetta, and Palomar.

Prices start at $589 per person, based on double occupancy. At the time of publication, the cheapest sailing was the 2-night cruise departing on Oct. 15, 2027.

Viking Mira, Viking Cruises: June 2026

Viking Explorer's Lounge

Viking Cruises is welcoming two new ships to its fleet in 2026. The first is Viking Mira, with her inaugural voyage planned for June 5.

Slightly larger than the Four Seasons Yacht I but smaller than Norwegian Luna, Viking Mira measures around 54,000 GT, providing an intimate yet spacious experience for its 998 passengers.

Onboard, guests will find 499 balcony cabins; there are no windowless interior or ocean-view staterooms, ensuring that each passenger has easy access to fresh air and the passing scenery.

Viking Mira is identical to Viking Vesta and Viking Vela. As such, rather than standing out for new amenities, she continues Viking Cruises’ focus on providing a destination-driven experience.

Highlights include culturally immersive experiences like curated shore excursions and enrichment lectures given by the vessel's resident historian.

Viking Mira’s dining options also showcase the flavors of the destinations she visits, with regional dishes available in The Restaurant, the ship’s main dining room. Additionally, guests can immerse themselves in the onboard cooking school, allowing them to learn how to bring distinct, local flavors from market to table from world-class chefs.

Prices start at $2,599 per person, based on double occupancy. At the time of publication, the cheapest sailings were the Dec. 9 and Dec. 30, 2026, sailings.

According to TUI Cruises, Mein Schiff Flow promises guests a new "experience of lightness." The second InTUItion Class vessel will debut in July and will measure around 160,000 GT with a passenger capacity of 4,000.

Highlights include ocean-view restaurants, relaxing wellness areas, a variety of entertainment options, and a redesigned pool deck.

According to Christin Boos, Head of Hotel Operations, they broke away from the traditional cruise ship pool deck format, creating individual island-inspired areas.

While the focus is still on the 82-foot pool, the areas surrounding it provide guests with more space to relax, socialize, and dine.

Agora, for instance, was modeled after a charming Greek village. During the day, the infinity pool, bar, and lounge seating offer a great spot to unwind. At night, however, the entire area transforms into a vibrant entertainment hub.

Mein Schiff Flow's inaugural season will take place in the Mediterranean. In November 2026, she will move to the Middle East, sailing from ports like Doha and Dubai.

Then, the 248,663 GT ship will relocate to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where she will offer 6- and 8-night Western and Southern Caribbean itineraries.

Explora Journeys is a relatively new cruise line, with its first ship debuting in 2023. Although they only have two ships in service as of Dec. 2025, they plan to expand to a fleet of six by 2028.

Explora III is the line’s next addition, with plans to continue the line’s focus on luxury and exploration. Measuring 72,810 GT with a passenger capacity of just 900, the ship promises an intimate yet personalized experience.

The spacious suites, luxurious public spaces, distinct restaurants, and immersive destination programming all reflect Explora’s goal of offering a cruise experience with a slower pace and deeper connection to each destination.

Wellness is another pillar of the Explora experience. From state-of-the-art fitness facilities to mindfulness programs and rejuvenating spa treatments, the ship is designed to be more than a floating hotel that transports guests from one destination to another.

Moreover, Explora III will be the line’s first LNG-powered ship, reflecting Explora Journeys’ commitment to sustainability.

Prices start at $2,675 per person, based on double occupancy. At the time of publication, the cheapest sailing was departing on March 21, 2026.

MSC World Asia, MSC Cruises: December 2026

MSC-World-Asia-Aerial-Rendering

In 2025, MSC Cruises brought its first-ever purpose-built ship for the North American market to Miami, Florida. MSC World America blew guests away with its family-friendly amenities, diverse culinary scene, and sleek design.

Building on that success, MSC World Asia is set to debut in December 2026. The mega-ship will measure around 215,863 GT and accommodate over 6,700 passengers.

While MSC World America sails exclusively to the Caribbean from Florida, MSC World Asia will join MSC World Europa, the original World Class ship, in Europe.

Despite the ship’s inaugural itineraries, MSC World Asia will feature subtle design elements that reflect Asia’s rich culture, art, and landscapes, including a nine-meter-wide dragon sculpture in the World Promenade and distinct dining options.

The brand-new Pan-Asian Street Food venue will offer an indoor dining room with a dedicated bar, as well as an al fresco terrace with to-go options. The specialty restaurant will focus on Southeast Asian cuisine, giving guests a culinary experience that’s never been available at sea.

Beyond this new addition, MSC World Asia will boast an impressive array of dining choices, with more than 40 bars, lounges, and restaurants. With just 112 suites, Star Explorer is designed to feel like a private yacht, rather than a massive cruise ship. You won't find any waterslides, ice skating rinks, rock climbing walls, or mini-golf courses on board. Instead, the focus is on attentive, personalized service and immersive, port-intensive itineraries.

Windstar favorites, including the Yacht Club Café and signature Marina with watersports, will return. However, the ship will also feature a slew of new experiences and enhancements, including the Nasil + Bamboo specialty restaurant and redesigned Amphora dining room.
