Carnival debuts new bar honoring military personnel

Carnival Cruise Line revealed the "Heroes Tribute Bar" on the Carnival Panorama ship, which salutes members of the military and their families.

The venue features a distinctive All-American décor with logos of the five armed service branches of the U.S. military as well as patriotic and military memorabilia throughout the room. The venue’s walls are lined with photos and messages centering on three main themes:  Welcome Home, Thank You for Your Service and America’s Heroes.

Man pleads guilty to murdering his girlfriend on Carnival cruise

Eric Duane Newman, 55, pleaded guilty on Thursday to murdering his girlfriend while on the Carnival Elation.

Newman and Tamara Tucker, were on the Carnival Elation in January 2018 on a cruise that left Jacksonville to the Bahamas, when Newman tried to strangle Tucker and pushed her over the balcony of their 13th floor cabin, the Department of Justice said in a statement Thursday. Tucker hit the 11th deck after the fall and died from blunt force trauma.

Newman pleaded guilty to one count of murder in the second degree in federal court in Kansas.

Carnival Mardi Gras ship delivery delayed

Carnival Cruises announced today its newest cruise ship, Carnival Mardi Gras, has suffered construction delays and as a result, will debut later than expected.  In addition, eight sailings have been cancelled.

The ship is under construction at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, and will not be delivered until the end of October. The first revenue sailing will also now be departing Port Canaveral, Florida on November 14, 2020.

Two Carnival ships collide in Cozumel

The Carnival Legend and Carnival Glory collided at the dock in Cozumel, Mexico leaving some noticeable damage to the ships.

The incident occurred as the Carnival Glory was attempting to dock in Cozumel, and guests sailing both ships shared photos on social media of the incident.

Carnival takes delivery of Carnival Panorama cruise ship

Carnival Cruise Line took delivery of its 27th cruise ship this week, with the Carnival Panorama at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy.

The third of the Vista Class ships, Panorama will now head to Long Beach, California for its naming ceremony and inaugural sailing in December. Carnival Panorama will launch year-round service from Long Beach, Calif., on Dec. 11, becoming the line’s first new ship homeported on the West Coast in more than 20 years.

Carnival releases first Sky Zone at sea details and prices

Carnival Cruise Line announced  first-ever Sky Zone trampoline park at sea aboard Carnival Panorama, debuting this December in Long Beach.

Guests will find the new facility on decks 6 and 7, which covers more than 3,000 square feet across a 12-lane trampoline court.

Sky Zone will be open all day on sea days with late afternoon and evening sessions on port days. One-hour sessions will be held throughout the cruise and available for three different age groups – 6 months to 5 years; 6-14; and 15 and older.

Carnival and Royal Caribbean will build new cruise terminal in St. Lucia

Carnival Corporation & plc and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. announced today the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the government of Saint Lucia to form a joint venture to manage the existing cruise pier and terminal facilities in Saint Lucia, and to design, construct and operate a new cruise port on the island.

Carnival's Chief Fun Officer Shaquille O’Neal is the star of a brand new safety briefing video that can be seen by guests onboard its ships.

The “Safety is Serious Fun” video stars Shaq, who appears in his nautical-themed “CFO office” and guides guests through the safety messages delivered by three Carnival crew members as they tour the ship and experience the dining, entertainment and recreation features that await the 5.2 million guests who annually sail with the world’s most popular cruise line.

Carnival Cruise Line Signs Three-Year Extension with Mobile, Alabama

Carnival Cruise Line and the City of Mobile signed a three-year extension at a press conference held aboard the Carnival Fantasy. That ship will continue sailing from Mobile through November 2022

With the agreement, Carnival Fantasy will continue its popular four- and five-day cruises to Mexico from the Alabama Cruise Terminal, bringing 170,000 guests to Mobile annually. 

Carnival Cruise Line resumes visits to Grand Bahama

Carnival Cruise Line announced it has resumed regular visits to Grand Bahamas with a visit today when Carnival Pride docked in Freeport. Carnival Elation will follow on Sunday, Oct. 13 and Carnival Freedom on Tuesday, Oct. 15.
