Costa Cruises restarts sailings in the Mediterranean

Costa Cruises restarted its cruise operations on Sunday, becoming the first Carnival Corporation cruise line to restart cruising.

The Costa Deliziosa sailed from Trieste, Italy and began a 7-night cruise that visits only ports in Italy with Italian passengers onboard.

Costa joins a few other cruise lines that have been able to resume cruises in Europe, including MSC Cruises.

Royal Caribbean floats out new Wonder of the Seas cruise ship

The construction of Wonder of the Seas, the largest cruise ship ever, hit a significant milestone on Saturday as the ship took to the water for the firs ttime.

Construction on Wonder of the Seas continues as the ship transferred to its outfitting dock at Chantiers de l’Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France on Sept. 5.

Costa Cruises plans to restart cruises next week

Carnival Corporation announced today that Costa Cruises will begin sailing again on September 6, 2020 in Italy.

A limited amount of sailings will begin on two ships that wil sail from Trieste and Genoa, Italy, carrying only Italian passengers.

Originally the ships had itineraries that would visit Greece, but will only visit Italian ports.

Royal Caribbean announced that Grandeur of the Seas will remain in its fleet instead of being transferred to Pullmantur Cruises.

The cruise line confirmed that previous plans to transfer Grandeur out of the fleet in Spring 2021 have been cancelled, and instead, she will still be sailing with Royal Caribbean.
