The first Royal Caribbean cruises will restart in Singapore in December

Royal Caribbean announced that it will finally be able to restart cruises, beginning with cruises from Singapore in December.

Quantum of the Seas will begin cruises that visit no ports, beginning with a December 1 cruises. Royal Caribbean has 3- and 4-night cruises available to book that are only available to residents of Singapore.

The cruise line has worked for months with the Singapore Government to offer these pilot cruises.

Royal Caribbean cancels all of its November 2020 cruises

Royal Caribbean Group joined the growing list of cruise lines that have cancelled their November 2020 cruises.

Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises all cancelled their November 2020 sailings.

Royal Caribbean Group will be extending the suspension of sailings to include those departing on or before November 30, 2020, excluding sailings from Hong Kong.

State of the Industry: Cruise Lines 'Highly Optimistic' About Return to Cruising in 2020

The heads of most of the world's major cruise lines said they're both highly and cautiously optimistic that sailings to and from U.S. can still resume before the end of the year, despite the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's further extension of the no-sail order through October 31.

Norwegian cancels all cruises through November 2020

Norwegian Cruise Line announced on Monday it has cancelled all of its cruises through November 2020, and a few other ships will not sail until at least April 2021.

NCL posted an update on its website that it has decided to extend its voluntary suspension of all cruises through November 2020.

In addition, cruises on three ships are cancelled through the end of March 2021:

Bahamas announces new protocols aimed to eliminate need to quarantine

The Bahamas announced a series of new health protocols that it hopes will negate the need for visitors to quarantine.

Beginning November 1, the Bahamas will not require tourists to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. Instead, a series of new protocols will be put into place so they can immediately begin enjoying their time there.

These new protocols will require visitors to obtain a RT-PCR (swab) test no more than seven (7) days prior to their travel to The Bahamas.

Holland America Rotterdam cruise ship launched

A new Holland America Line cruise ship has been launched from the shipyard.

The HAL Rotterdam was launched by Fincantieri at a shipyard in Italy today.

Rotterdam will next have her drydock filled with water and floated out on October 7 to begin the next stage of construction at an outfitting pier.

Coinciding with the launch is the traditional and well-wishing “coin ceremony" which sees the yard welding a silver dollar on the last deck of the ship.

Carnival Cancels More Cruises, Focuses Return on Miami and Port Canaveral

Following an eleventh-hour extension of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's no-sail order, which now runs through October 31, 2020, Carnival has canceled sailings from most ports through December 2020.

The line said in a statement that, when the time comes, it will take a phased approach to its restart, focusing first on sailings from Port Miami and Port Canaveral in Florida. The line has not yet canceled November or December sailings from those two ports.

No Sail Order extended through end of October 2020

The U.S. Center for Disease Control (CDC) has extended its cruise ship prohibition by adding an additional 30 days to the No Sail Order.

Late on Wednesday night, the CDC updated its website with a notice that the No Sail Order is now in effect through October 31, 2020.
