Holland America drops Port of Tampa as cruise ship port

Holland America will cease using the Port of Tampa as a ship departure point after April 2019.

"Holland America Line reviews deployment plans several times each year for future scheduling," Holland America director of public relations Erik Elvejord said in an email in response to an inquiry from the Tampa Bay Times.

Man dies on Princess Cruises ship to Melbourne

Mercury is reporting a Princess Cruise ship passenger died on a sailing between Australia and New Zealand.

A spokesperson for Princess said a 22-year-old man sailing on the Golden Princess went missing and his family has been notified.

Disney Cruise Line signs 10-year agreement with Galveston

The Port of Galveston and Disney Cruise Line extended their preferential berthing agreement for another 10 years, with the option to renew for two additional five-year periods.

The extension includes plans for a a shared cruise terminal that would be large enough to handle a ship equal to, or larger than, ships the size of the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder.

Couple finds crew members having sex in their stateroom

A couple from Scotland were surprised to find crew members in their stateroom right in the middle of having sex while on the Norwegian Jewel.

The Sunday Post is reporting when the couple opened their door, they spotted a naked man and woman on their bed. The stateroom attendant at the time of the incident and immediately informed his supervisor.

Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line announced sailings to Cuba

Budget cruise operator Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line announced it will offer a four-night cruise to Cuba onboard the Grand Classica.

The Grand Classica will depart the port on February 14, 2019, on a 4-night voyage which will only call at Havana for 10 hours on February 15.

February 16 will feature a day at sea with an open-air concert featuring Los Cuatro, Laritza Bacallao, and La Pantoja.

A day later, the ship will be back in Havana for an eight-hour call, before returning to Palm Beach on February 18.
