Two new Royal Caribbean ships homeport from Port Canaveral

Royal Caribbean's Harmony of the Seas and Mariner of the Seas relocated to Port Canaveral this week to arrive at their new homeport.

The world's second-largest cruise ship, Harmony of the Seas, will offer 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean sailings to the Caribbean and Perfect Day at CocoCay.

Carnival Cruises sued for offering cruises to Cuba

Carnival Corporation is being sued for doing business at properties the Cuban government seized in Cuba.

The lawsuit says Carnival is accused of touring to property confiscated by the Cuban government after the Fidel Castro-led revolution in 1959.

Jacksonville resident Javier Garcia-Bengochea and Kentucky-based Havana Docks Corp. both owned property in Cuba before it was seized. They're seeking damages from Carnival.

Princess Cruises to expand MedallionClass to six more ships in 2020

Princess Cruises announced today it will expand its MedallionClass Vacations to six additional ships in 2020, which will bring MedallionClass for the first time to Australia, New Zealand and even a world cruise.

Costa announces China-based new ship will be called Costa Firenze

Costa Cruises announced today that its new cruise ship will be called Costa Firenze and that it will be based in China.

The 135,500gt Costa Firenze, with capacity for more than 5,200 passengers, is under construction at Fincantieri's Marghera yard.

Royal Caribbean opens Perfect Day at CocoCay

Royal Caribbean released new photos of its private island in The Bahamas that is newly upgraded and enhanced.

Perfect Day at CocoCay opened to guest over the weekend, which includes a number of new venues.  The $250 million transformation of Royal Caribbean's private island combines opportunities to relax, as well as new thrills.

Azamara removes casino as part of Azamara Quest refurbishment

Azamara Club Cruises has finalized refurbishments to Azamara Quest following her recent Singapore dry dock.

Azamara Quest now boasts a number of enhancements, including the removal of the casino – replicating Azamara Pursuit’s “The Den”; a newly designed gift shop, and the addition of six new Ocean View staterooms.

Holland America launching new phone app

Holland America Line will expand its browser-based Navigator tool into a free app for mobile phones and tablets that can be used on board. iPhone and Android users can download the Navigator app from the iTunes App and Google Play stores, respectively.

Through the Navigator app, guests can chat with other users for free, plan daily activities, explore and book shore excursions, view restaurant menus and make dining reservations, view spa treatments, check their account statement and more.

Oasis of the Seas to return to service on May 5

During its first quarter earnings call with investors, Royal Caribbean announced Oasis of the Seas will return to service for its scheduled May 5th sailing.

Oasis of the Seas has been out of service since April 1, when a construction crane accidentally fell and struck the ship.

Carnival Sunrise departs from Norfolk on first sailing

Following a $200 million renovation, Carnival Sunrise is making her debut today at Norfolk’s Decker Half Moone Cruise Center.

Carnival Sunrise is kicking off an inaugural season of four- to 14-day voyages that visit destinations in the Caribbean, Bermuda, Bahamas, the Panama Canal, New England and Canada with the first four cruises from Norfolk.

Azamara Club Cruises announces 2021-2022 sailings

 Azamara Club Cruises revealed details of its global 2021 and early 2022 deployment, featuring brand new destinations, more overnights and new Grand Voyages.

The cruise line will offer over  140 overnight stays around the world. In particular, guests on Azamara will discover expanded itineraries to Eastern Europe in the Black Sea and Turkey, including overnights in Istanbul and calls to hidden gems including Antalya and Sinop.
